I'm looking for a psychological view, or maybe one of you have helped with this kind of situation before.
I've noticed this is becoming more of a common problem among teens and young adults, who will use self destructive addictions, such as anorexia, to lash out to their family and friends. I use anorexia as the example because it's both a self-vanity problem and a serious health condition. From what I've seen, they use the anger they have towards their loved ones as motivation to continue their path of self-destruction.
What do you feel is the true cause and/or reason for this? It's more than wanting attention I think. Or is it usually used solely as revenge?
