Young teen girl interests? Need party ideas.

Question

My toddler will turn 2 in a few weeks and we are having a cook out with friends and family. The guests will include 5 girls from ages 9 to 13 as well and want to have an area where they can gather and have fun too. I need some ideas of what I can have for them.

I was thinking of having a special girls table and giving them cards and board games to play with. I need some suggestions from some parents and young teen girls of what might be good to include. Maybe teen magazines? play make up and mirrors?

What kind of craft things can I have? or a contest?

maybe goodie bags with make up and nail polish stuff like that. and you could have then have them maybe make a t- shirt for a craft because they will wear it and use it. as for a contest you might want to have a  karaoke contest or dance off or  something fun.

roasting marshmallows at a fire could be fun and making s'mores but you would have to have an adult that would be with them of course

or you could make bead animals i used to love to make them as a craft

Teen girls like beading, lanyard and "friendsip bracelets" (braided embroidery thread).  There are books in the craft store and "kits" for making all of this stuff.  When my daughter turned 13 she actually had a "beading" party, where all of the girls made beaded bracelets.
