Question:

Younger people today?

Why does it seem like so many kids ages 12-14 think that they are grown ups. Times have changed so much. When I was 12-14 I wasn't thinking about s*x and parties. I am not saying all kids of those ages are doing that but it seems like now days it is normal to hear about a 13 year old being pregnant. It just seems kind of sad to me. Kids are missing out on so much stuff that they only get to do when they are young. I mean am I the only one who thinks this way?

  1. Hey, I am 23, I feel the same way, I wasnt a kid that long ago and when I was 14/15 I was still playing down at the river in the mud with the neighbourhood kids. I started 'thinking' about boys at 14 or 15, but my wildest dreams was to KISS one not have s*x with him! lol. I didn't have boyfriends til I was 16, and I had a lot of boyfriends but still didn't have s*x until I was almost 18 and knew for sure that I was in love. It is sad. It's like they are missing out on something now, do they even know how fun it is to play outside in the mud?

Oh and I knew about s*x since I was 4 years old when I asked my mum where babies come from, knowing about s*x didn't make me want to do it in the slightest. I think the media normalises it more nowadays and people are letting their kids watch things that are too grown up for them, i.e. I was NOT allowed to watch 90210 when it was all the rage in the 90's hehe

  2. i think a lot of it has to do with peer pressure and this idea that they are cool if they do it. Also when kids are young they want to be grown up. You can't say you haven't ever seen a little girl wanting to put on makeup or high heels. They want to do it because they think they are grown up or want to be badly and think by doing it they will be

  3. When I was 12-14, I did not know many girls who could even concieve a child. Of course we talked about boys and what it would be like to kiss a guy, but it was very rare for someone to have already had s*x. I am only 23 so times have quickly changed to what we see today.

  4. It is common because as the years go on more and more kids and young teens are being exposed to s*x (movies, TV, magazines, etc.) and the message that is giving out to them means s*x is fun, cool and harmless. Not just that, kids think that being grown-up is fun and cool: they get to do more things when they are grown-up then what they can do now and more kids find it insulting being called "kid" or "young". Adding s*x into their lives makes up feel really grown-up. I'm 17 and I to find it a sad sight to see. Hopefully it will get better.

  5. I am 23, so Im not that old.  When we were 12-13 we would laugh when we would hear about s*x.  Yeah we were boy crazy, but not dumb enough to have s*x.  We were to busy going to the movies and the mall.  My parents would of killed me if I had s*x at such a young age.

  6. you're right but its not getting any  better, unfortunatly.

when i was that age i was still playing with dolls and such...not having s*x..my mother told me boys have cutties and if you touch one,you will be punished in a life of sin and misery...i know hahaha.

  7. You are so right about this. Most kids are not focused on school during the year. Most parents seem to think that the way to be happy and successful is to be a sports star, and thanks to our mass media, kids are exposed to s*x in advertising, movies, music, prime time TV, etc. So they start the whole possessive "dating" thing in the sixth and seventh grades, and their parents think it is oh so cute....excuse me whilst I vomit.

  8. I'm 16 and I'm still not thinking about parties or having s*x.

I'll be a virgin until I'm married no matter how many of my friends...well, wont!

I'm enjoying my youth the good old fashioned innocent way thankyouverymuch.  A loving boyfriend who is waiting for me, involvement in theatre and yearbook st school, and a part time job.  I don't drink, I don't do drugs, I don't have s*x.  I'm happy

Yet a bunch of my friends come complaining to me about things going wrong in their lives are linked to such things.

    Teens are so dumb.
