Younger sibling bothering Older sibling.?

Question

How do you get a 4 year old to leave your 11 year old and her friend alone when they want to be left alone?

I have tried and it has required me constantly making my 4 year old daughter stay by me or she sneaks back upstairs to bug them. Is this what it takes to get her to leave them alone? Or is there a simpler way?

Help from younger siblings and older siblings welcome.

Get to know other parents so that they will trust you with there four year old and you will trust them...then you can let the four year do the sleep over thing or hang out thing.

i'm not sure if there is a way...no matter what my mum does, she can't keep my 9 year old brother away from me (i'm 15)...he constantly bothers me. it's just something that siblings do i guess.

Well, we spank for disobedience.  And if you've told her to leave them alone and she's not, that would qualify in our book.

Do also make sure that your 11 yo does frequently spend time interacting with her younger sister....

when i was younger and lived with all my sisters & brother, i probably bothered them all the time too, i'm the youngest.

it's just what siblings do. they wanna be like the older ones when their that young, and want to do what they do. just make sure the 11 year old spends time with the 4 year old, because she probably feels left out.
