    but clayton kershaw, pitcher for the LA Dodgers, made his debut in May and has since then is the youngest player.

He pitches for the Dodgers.  Justin Upton is the second youngest player  in the  major leagues. At the beginning of the season he was 20, but he was born in 1987.  He plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks and is currently injured. The third  youngest player is pitcher Phil Hughes of the Yankees. He is also  injured. Hughes is 21.
