Youngsters to show their skills in Impian Classic from tomorrow – Asian Development Tour
The Impian Classic sanctioned by the Asian Development Tour will commence from tomorrow at the par-72, Impian Golf and Country Club in Selangor, Malaysia. This championship will be played over four days and the total prize-money sanctioned for this
tournament is US$67,000.
All the young rising stars, who failed to earn the Asian Tour card, will be featuring in this championship. It will surely be exciting to watch all these youngsters battle against each other on the course for the winner’s trophy and the cheque.
Asian Development Tour acts like a bridge for the aspiring players from Asia who then go on to play on the Asian circuit also. The prize-money for these tournaments is a little less when compared to Asian Tour.
This prize-money has once again attracted all the teenagers and young professional from Asia. All these talented players will highlight the field with their text book shot making ability and skills. Surely, the sponsors will be happy as more than hundred
players have gathered to compete in this event.
Malaysia’s upcoming young player Shaaban Hussin will be the local favourite to win this event. He was among the players who earned their Asian Tour cards earlier this year. The young Hussin also participated in the star studded field of Indonesian
Open. Unfortunately, he had to disqualify himself as he played a wrong ball during a round.
Hussin is enjoying his current form at the moment as he played well during the Clearwater Masters which finished last week. The youngster finished at the 14th place and was in contention until he had a disastrous round of four-over par,
76 on the final day.
The young Hussin is now looking for his maiden victory. He will also have an advantage as he knows about playing on his home conditions.
Some other notable players from Malaysia will be Sukree Othman, Mohd Ilyia Jamil and Kemarol Bahrain. All these three players are highly skilled and have great talent in them.
Another youngster from China, Ye Jian-feng will be also among the probables who will tee off from tomorrow. Ye also made history a couple of years back when he emerged as the youngest winner on Asian. He was just 13 years old when he won the Sanya
Open in China.
Ye has been training at the Butch Harmon School of Golf in USA and has been working quite hard on his game.
The experienced players like Airil Rizman and Danny Chia of the host country are also going to battle it out on the course for the championship trophy. Both these players have been playing on the Asian Tour and have a couple of victories beween them.
The 72-hole tournament will begin tomorrow and will surely produce some under par rounds as some experienced players are also participating.
