Younis Khan gets his issue resolved after meeting PCB Chairman
Finally, Younis Khan gets his issue resolved as the Pakistan Cricket Board clears his name after a meeting between the former skipper and the uncrowned king of PCB, Mr. Ijaz Butt.
According to board officials, Younis has been cleared and is expected to make a comeback to the national side, possibly as soon as the series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE) later this month.
It has been revealed by the sources in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board that the meeting between PCB chairman and Younis Khan took place on Wednesday morning and that all unsettled issues were resolved cordially.
Last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board had sent Younis a letter asking him to meet the Chairman PCB in order to discuss his continuous overlooking from the national side. A resolution had been probable since then as the former captain
of Pakistan responded positively to the board’s letter.
Younis, at that time told the media reporters that he has always been keen to meet any of the board officials and get his name cleared to play again for his country.
The pullout of Mohammad Yousuf from the ODI squad could hasten Younis' return to the national squad. The middle-order batsman has gotten a grade 2 abductor muscle tear and has not been seen at Gaddafi Stadium over the last two days
whilst the rest of his teammates practice in the nets.
The chief selector of Pakistan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 Khan, is expected to make an announcement related to Younis Khan’s inclusion to the squad later today.
Younis Khan was one of seven players, who were served with bans or fines by the Pakistan board after a devastating tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last winter, where the tourists lost to the Kangaroos across all formats of game.
Later an in-depth inquiry into the issue suggested that the basic reason behind the team’s poor performance was the infighting. Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Malik were banned indefinitely.
Yousuf, as a protest against the ban, announced retirement from international cricket and remained away from the international grounds till July. While Younis and Malik had their bans overturned on appeals but Younis has been overlooked by the selectors
since then.
If http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128, known to change his mind quite regularly in the recent past, sticks to his decision, Younis Khan can make an unconditional return to the side.
