Younis Khan makes comeback after row with PCB ends
The Pakistan Cricket Board seems to have patched up its differences with former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 met Younis. This cleared way for the selection of Younis in
the Pakistan squad for the ODIs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 to be played in Dubai and Abu Dhabi later in October.
Earlier, Younis had been one of the six players who were either banned or fined by the PCB following the disastrous tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. While all the remaining cricketers were exonerated and allowed to play
again, Younis was not cleared. This meant that he could not be selected in the team despite both the captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohsin-c77587 Khan having spoken about wanting him in the side.
Butt had sent a letter to Younis asking him to meet the chairman, which he did on Wednesday.
Almost immediately after the path was cleared for Younis’ comeback, he was drafted into the ODI team for series against South Africa. Mohsin http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319, chief selector, also announced that Younis was now a part
of the training camp in Lahore. He added, "The chairman [PCB] has given clearance this afternoon to Younis Khan and that is good news. I discussed with the selection committee and we picked him straight away. He is fit, playing top-class cricket,"
Mohsin added the decision to induct him into the Test match squad had yet to be taken and will be done so after the ODIs got over. Rather surprisingly, the Pakistani team manager, Intikhab Alam said that
Younis had been selected in the Tests as well.
Earlier, it was also announced that Mohammad Yousuf will not be a part of the ODI squad after he sustained a grade two tear in his hamstring. However, Mohsin did say that irrespective of whether Yousuf had
been a part, Younis would have been selected in the side.
