My friend and I just graduated High School and were preparing for our first year in college when we rented our first apt. It was a former Motel, so it wasn't the nicest place, but we had LOTS of fun there anyhow!!!

I was 18 and had just gotten a job at a restaurant. One of my coworkers was looking for a roommate and I wanted to move out on my own. We moved in together after knowing eachother for 3 months. I come home one night and another one of our married w/ kids, 25 years older, unattractive coworkers was there. They were having an affair, gross!!! Then the wife finds out and comes into the restaurant one night yelling, screaming and trys to fight my roommate. I was scared to be living in the same apartment with her. Then the married dude moves in without even telling me. I was out!! Then she tried to charge me for a months extra rent because I forgot a box there, while this guy was living there rent free without my permission. Roommates suck!!!

my first apartment blowed, no bigger than a walk in closet. I had this Italian couple who where cool with me but they lived above my apt, the yelling & fighting all hours of the night drove me crazy for two years, they would also have loud s*x, it sounded like he was going to ripp her in two!! Geez !! my girlfriend at the time got a kick out of it everytime she'd sleep over.

I shared my first apartment with a girl I had never met.  There was a frat house behind us that would play loud music and sometimes there would be loud arguing too.  We each had our own room, but the only cable hookup in the place was in her closet (I don't know why), so we had coax cable laying all over the floor.  We got along great for the first year or so, but she never offered to help with any of the household cleaning, and it all fell on me to do, even though I was the only one with a full time job (her parents paid the rent for her).  Needless to say, the place got to be somewhat uninhabitable as I tried to keep up with all the cleaning, my homework, and my job.  She began to hate me (I know, this is backwards) and destroyed a lot of my possessions before moving out without notice and without paying her last months rent.  So I got stuck with the $625 rent by myself for several months.  I was getting paid just over minimum wage at the time.  This is why I no longer have a savings account!  

Things I learned:  always meet your roommate BEFORE moving in with them, and discuss how you will split up the responsibilities.  Promise each other you will talk to the other if you have a problem.  I kept silent for far too long.

me and my ex boyfriend finally moved out of his small trailer and gotten a apartment together. everything was going good until robbie got out of jail. and asked us if he could live with us we said sure but you have to get a job. he said no problem..he never got a job,,always smoked weed in my house always drinking..robbie got his own place with his friends. after robbie left our friends came and asked us if they can live with us..we said yes because they was working but they never paid us rent or anything, so our relationship was destroyed because i had to kick them out. then chris came to live with us and invited all his friends all the time. then i kicked chris out..then robbie got put in jail again and he got out and lived with us again. me and chris p were having our own problems because he lost his under the table job and had to ask his FREAKIING mommy if he can get a job or have his check thelma said no to both,,so i had to go to work i had to walk for a hour to work and a hour back. i was so stressed out. i wanted to kill everybody. chris p didnt want to hurt his mommy's feelings so he never got a job. meanwhile the land lady evicted us...and guess who has a new car...HIS PIECE OF p**p c**p mom. i broke up with chris i couldnt take it anymore.

advice

1.) dont date anyone who has to ask permission from there mom to do something when there over 18

2.) dont let anyone live with you that doesnt have a job

3) and in that case, make sure you discuss whos paying what and doing what..to save the stress and hassle dont live with anyone

4,) dont let your family use you
