Giving up without trying. Feeling hopeless. Have so many dreams. Afraid that I will never realize them. Am I the only one that experiences this? Will I realize my dreams? I have meditated, I have prayed, I have been spiritual, I have been religious...help please

  1. God knows you personally. Jesus Christ also knows you personally. Continue talking to God as your best friend and ask him what His will is for you. Follow that direction and you will realize the potential He has in store for you.

  2. I would encourage you my friend to read and meditate on who you are in Christ

    Who Am I?

I, (your name here), called on Jesus Christ to be my Saviour and Lord. He heard me from Heaven, has accepted me, has forgiven my sins and prepared a place in Heaven for me. As promised, He has made me acceptable to God the Father by his death, in my place, on the cross and by His resurrection. Because of what Jesus has done for me, I have therefore passed from death to life, from Satan's domain of darkness to God's Kingdom of Light. God loves me unconditionally and nothing I can do will make God love me more than he does now. God will never reject me. He calls me to obedience to Him and wants me to receive all the blessings He has for me. He has also appointed me to be a witness to the truth about Jesus.

Since Jesus accepted me when I called on him, all the following verses in God's word, the Bible, are true about me.

I can always trust God, because Jesus said He is "The Truth" (John14: 6).

I will have all my needs met by God (Philippians 4: 19)

If I should sin, whenever I confess it to Him He will forgive me (1 John 1: 9)

    I am a child of God (John 1: 12)

    I am Jesus' friend (John 15: 14)

I am chosen and appointed by Jesus to bear his fruit (John 15: 16)

I am a joint heir with Jesus, sharing his inheritance with Him (Romans 8: 17)

I am a temple - a dwelling place - of God. His spirit and his life live in me

    (1 Corinthians 3: 16 and 6: 19)

    I am a new creation, since I am in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5: 17)

I am a fellow citizen with the rest of God's family (Ephesians 2: 19)

I am chosen of God, holy and dearly loved (Colossians 3: 12 and 1 Thess 1: 4)

I can ask God for wisdom and He will give me what I need (James 1: 5)

I can always know the presence of God, since He will never leave me. (Hebrews 13: 5)

I am a child of light and not of darkness (1 Thessalonians 5: 5)

I am an enemy of the devil (1 Peter 5: 8)

    --------------------------------------...

Because you are in Christ, every one of the above descriptions is true of you. You can make these more meaningful and productive in your life by simply choosing to believe what God has said about you. One of the greatest ways to grow in maturity as a Christian is to constantly remind yourself who you are as a Christian. The Bible is where you find your true identity in Him.

Read the above list every day for a couple of weeks, preferably out loud to yourself. The more you take on board who you are in Christ, the more your behaviour will reflect your true Christian identity.

    Trust this will help!

  3. It sounds to me that you are determined to make positive changes. Others, even those who have possibly been abused along with you, may not be as supportive as they should be, so don't count on their understanding your determination. You are on your way, but don't leave the God of the Bible out of your life. HE Alone will direct your path in the right way. Being religious is not the answer. A relationship with Jesus Christ is. I commend your making up your mind to have a good life that you can be proud of, but you will never be complete until you reconcile to God personally through Jesus Christ. Read the Gospel of John in the New Testement, of the Bible - red letter edition will show you the words of Jesus. (in red). God  bless you.

I have been where you have been, and I know that the only true happiness in life comes from knowing that God loves you and wants what's best for you, and that includes accepting Jesus Christ.

  4. You in a mental state of "helplessness", faith keeps you intact, motivated, devotional, and there are plenty of other advantages to the firm believers of any faith, having any theology.

Start having faith in God, if possible, in One Unseen God!

  5. I don't see anything about a foundation in what you wrote. Jesus is my foundation, for instance. You may be building upon sand, and so you are shaken by the least bit of disturbance.

It's through Jesus Christ that I have a solid foundation on which to build.

  6. Ask God/Allah for guidance and be sincere and you shall find the right path. I went through something similar and my only way out was to Islam but this is just me...

  7. it's ok to be scared,  and it is so ok to dream.... God knows what he is doing and even though growing somtimes pushes ppl away, or brings new chalenges into our life this doesnot mean we shoul give up. it simply means we need to lean even more on God... God bless buddy
