Your Kids Birthdays?

am thinking about starting my own party in a box type buisness. I love planning parties and have seen the party in a box websites and noticed that they really only include paper plates, table cloths, cups and favors. I would love to make my own party in a box site (with a differnt name) that would include everything needed for a kids party excluding the cake/food

I thought this would be great for parents who don't have the time or don't like to spend time shopping around and planning all the details of the party

This is what it would include

Invitations (Send them out if they choose)

Cups

Plates

Napkins

Silverwear

Table Cover

Balloons

Streamers

Other Decorations

Props

Games/Activities

Favors

Special Hat/Gift for Birthday Child

Party Guide Book

Thank You Notes

I plan on having themes but would also work with a parent and child to create a cutome birthday party to fit there interests

So please let me know ur opinions and if you or a friend would use this?

  1. I go way way out for my kids parties....I myself love planning, too and hope to someday do that for a living. I have browsed websites like that before, but never order anything in a package like that. I think a lot of people do though. Especially parents who both work, have no clue what to do, no time to shop, and don't have a lot of creativity. I am sorry I could not be of more help.....I spend tons of money on my daughters parties and plan for 6-7 months sometimes. Good luck to you.....I wish you nothing but the best and all the sucess in the world!

  2. I've always found them to be a bit limited and pricey, so I wouldn't use a service like that. I think it takes all the fun out of it and I am a hands on mom and would rather do it myself.

That said, I've seen quite a few of these businesses already on the net. Most of them have a deluxe party box that includes most everything and then lots of choices for add-ons. Many moms either don't have the time or don't want to plan a party and for them, these businesses are great.

I would definitely look into the business end of it as you will need a license among other things. Also, shipping may be cost prohibitive. You'd need to find packing materials and a wholesale distributor for products as well. Don't forget about storage space. Think about customer satisfaction and having to deal with delivery issues and returns. I know you want to do your own thing, but it may be easier and less costly to be a rep for one of the other companies, at least to start with. It's a way to learn the ropes at a low cost and get your foot in the door.

I am not trying to burst your bubble, just wanted to add a few things you should look into. Good luck to you!
