Your Opinion on Instant Replay?

Question

It will be announced a bit later, but Instant Replay was just approved for MLB. Whats your take on that? Are you for it or against and why? Does this take the fun in the game??? Why has this problem evolved in the last year? Opinions welcomed...

I am not sure how I feel about it. Sometimes it can be a good thing but like anything else, it also has a downside. It makes me wonder if a manager can throw out a flag and request a challenge like in the NFL. If yes, then it could be disruptive to the rthym of the game - say Cliff Lee is pitching a no hitter and Ozzie Guillen throws out a flag and wants a challenge on a previous play...etc like freezing the kicker with timeouts in football. There is room for abuse. I hope it does not get out of hand and make long games even longer.

I think its a very good thing for baseball.  There have been quite a few missed calls, or at least disputed calls, this season on home runs, and instant replay will make it easier for umpires to call games. It doesn't take the fun out of the game, as players will be happier knowing that the calls that umpires make are the correct ones.  The problem has been around longer than just this year, its been around ever since the technology of replay had existed, but it seems as if there have been more missed home run calls this season than there usually are. As long as replay does not spread to other aspects of the game, such as for balls and strikes, instant replay is very good for the MLB.

i agree with instant replay cuz ive seen some bogus calls from an ump that are WAYYY off and it makes me really angry, and then i start cursing at the tv......lmao!

Yea i think their basically mostly going to use it on foul or fair and homerun calls. Basically umps are very good at those calls anyways.

Too soon to tell for me. I'm reserving judgment until I've seen it used a few times.
