  1. It really Pisses me off when people say homeschoolers are "anti-social" and in a sheltered envorment

first off i find that people who are homeschooled are more outgoing and more soical than people who go to regular school. Shelterd Envorment not completely people still call you names. you still deal with depression and everything else.

you dont have to hear all the trash that you hear in public school. I went to public school for kindergarden and i knew about s*x within the first week.

I think its great, i go to a homeschool school where you go 3 days a week and then do your work the other days.

  2. I loved it!  I was homeschooled K-12 and I was definitely more social and involved in my community than my public schooled friends simply because I had the time.  I plan on homeschooling my kids.  As a college student I am not very involved in my college 'community' because with two jobs and school full time I barely have time to sleep!  However, I am always more likely to speak my mind and lead group discussions so that blows away llama mama's socializatoin myth.  And I am not an exception.

  3. Ummm... actually I've given my opinion several times here in Y!A, but thanks for asking.   I will give my opinion again.

    I think it is great.

My husband and I work for the public schools.  We get a nice paycheck and easy work but for making sure our son gets an education, we prefer homeschool.    It is less hassle, less drama, more practical and less expensive.   We don't have to sell candy bars and magazines.  We can go to the library for our books and read online  for up to date information on any subject.

Our son has the freedom to learn things that pertain to his interests and goals.

    Yea, it works for us.

  4. Kids who come from a homeschooling environment tend to have a fresh outlook on life and are positive. Those in the Public school systems are the ones you really need to worry about. Those are the ones that are gonna be trouble and have depression, eating disorders, social problems, and negative outlook on life.

  5. i guess its good edjumacation i teach myself ... but other than that kind of lonely cause no one to play with.

  6. I was actually homeschooled for one year. A teacher from the district came to my house ever MWF to work for me for a couple of hours. There are advantages and disadvantages involved.

Advantages: you get to work one on one with the teacher. Teacher is usually more lenient. (i had all A's lol) Homework in usually less.

Disadvantages: No social contact with classmates. Gets boring at times. No lively discussion. Not really involved with anything.

These are just a few.. But i think it's worth the try. IF you don't like it, you can always stop. Good luck in making your decision

  7. Pros:

-Provides a somewhat more nurturing learning environment, making it possibly easier for the child to learn and grasp things faster and better

-Shelters the child from uncomfortable social situations (Embarassment, rumors)

    Cons:

-The sheltering of the child from social situations can also r****d the child for later years in life, and messes up the childs social skills for careers and personal relationships

  8. I'm currently home-schooled and it is wonderful. I take all of my classes online whenever and where I want.

I suggest it to anyone struggling with school or if you just need a break from all the drama that comes with school. However, you should not look at it as an "easy way out." It does require time and dedication, just like real school!

  9. how old are u casue i found a wonderful site. im in 6th on 7th and wanna be homeschooled

  10. I think it's great!

  11. Its nice but I feel that kids that homeschool arent as socialized as regular school children.

  12. This is the first time i have my daughter home school, so im not to sure how it is. my daughter loves it,  it only been 1wk, but i see that she is not as stress and is a lot calmer,
