Question:

Your Senators and Reps ................ ?

How many of you who are interested in the state of our nation, write to your senators and reps? If you have done so, do you hear back from them? Does what they say in their emails or letters to you conflict in any way with the way they conduct themselves in the Senate or House? In other words, do they do a lot of double talking? We seem to have that problem in NY State with our two 'esteemed' Senators. What is your experience?

  1. I have written several times to each of my three on the federal level and have always received responses which are consistent with what they say in public and how they vote in Congress.  They are;  Rep. Joe Barton (R) Texas, Sen. Kaye Baily Hutchinson (R) Texas, and Sen. John Cornyn (R) Texas.  I have always felt as though I received a straight up answer.

  2. In fact I e-mailed my senator  this morning about the Lib's not wanting us to drill. I heard back in ten minutes.  I live in S.C. but they respond quickly and are very nice. But I holler every time I don't like something. So they may just answer me to appease me.  But at least I know I did my part. .

  3. I have and do write to my reps.  And they respond.  It is a wonderful feeling.

Although I might feel less wonderful if my reps were working counter to our ends. . . .
