Your Top Three Restaurants in Las Vegas *10 points*?

In a nutshell - My wife's birthday combined with our 5th year anniversary. I've been going to all the websites (Zagat, Citysearch and Dine) and am at a total loss for what restaurant to take her to in Las Vegas.

Steakhouses. Italian and seafood is what she likes. Doesn't like sushi or freakish style european weird stuff. I have at least a month to make reservations.

Worth 10 points so make it count for me to do some more research.

  1. 1.  Nobu's at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

    2.  Michael Mina (if you order one of their specific selections, it comes with a free cookbook to take home).

  2. in n out burger. jack n the box.roscos chiken and waffles enjoy

  3. Madalay Bay has the House of Blues, which is a laid back place with a cool atmosphere and great food.  Southern and Cajun food.  If you make a day of it, I would hit this place up for lunch, as it is more relaxed than romantic.  With drinks, will run you around $100.

MGM Grand has SeaBlue which was very nice, but make sure you get a booth, as the tables are much too close together for my comfort.  I believe with drinks this will run you around $150, but the food was great and it is LV.

The Mix at Madalay Bay (the Hotel) has good food and a great view.  The entire place is white, so its the opposite of my other two recommendations, but you have an awesome view of the city.  While the food iwas great, the thing that makes this restaraunt is the view, because again, I found the seating too close for my comfort.  I believe our bill was not quite $200, but we had A LOT to drink, so probably half that! =]  Again, we had a shitload to drink, and I dont remember the bill... or much after. =]

  4. Paris Hotel and Casino at the Eiffel Tower suggest

you call in for reservations it is hard to get in without reservations.  enjoy

  5. When we went to Las Vegas we ordered a Entertainment Book and it give us some excellent choices. So we saved money too!!!!!!!!

  6. For some reason I end up only going to buffets when I'm in Vegas. The best sea food buffet is at The Rio. I hope that helps a little.

  7. dang!!..this is kind of an embarrasing question for me...i have lived in las vegas since 1972....to me they are all the same..i just eat!!..heck i don't know...there are so many.

  8. Your 5th anniversary and your wife's birthday:  A wonderful occasion that deserves the best in dining to fit her taste.

I have been to more than a dozen of Las Vegas' "steakhouses" and by far the best is SW STEAKHOUSE at the Wynn Las Vegas, 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Las Vegas, NV 89109; 702-770-3325, 888-320-WYNN!

Reserve a table on the patio facing Wynn’s Lake of Dreams backed by a lush forest with a calming water wall on which a light show is presented at 9 p.m. nightly.  I am a traditionalist, and the nine-ounce filet mignon was superb.  It is offered with béarnaise, bordelaise and Dijon-Cognac sauces.  I found the subtle bordelaise to add just the right touch.  Leave room for dessert!  Many desserts are quite special, but I recommend the Key lime layer cake with basil ice cream.  If you enjoy wine, the house has well over 600 elegant choices.

She likes Italian cuisine?  FRANCESCO'S!! 3300 Las Vegas Blvd S, Treasure Island, Las Vegas, NV 89109; 702-894-7111.

Make a reservation and enjoy the paintings by celebrities like Tony Bennett, Tony Curtis, and Phyllis Diller before you are seated.  The stonewashed walls create a Mediterranean atmosphere that is very romantic; and the service is excellent.  Then, pick anything from the menu.  I dined on sautéed scampi that were heavenly.  The desserts are tempting and plentiful.  The warm orange chocolate crepes are a gift from culinary heaven.

    My mouth is watering already!

One more recommendation:  For seafood, you will not be disappointed at MICHAEL MINA BELLAGIO!  3600 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Las Vegas, NV 89109; 702-693-8199.

Chef Anthony Amoroso permits only the finest to leave his kitchen.  It is an agreeable challenge to pick an entrée.  I enjoyed a phyllo-crusted Dover sole with Dungeness crab brandade in Dijon sauce.   My companion ordered one of the five-course "tasting" menus.  It was a rich, aromatic dining experience.  Again, leave room for dessert.  My favorite is the coconut panna cotta; however, the choices are as varied as they are delicious.  The wine list is extensive, but you need not "break the bank" to enjoy a wine perfectly suited to the fare you choose.

There you have my recommendations.  Whether you select to dine at one of my favorites or find your way to another restaurant, you and she have my hearty congratulations and very best wishes!
