Your ascendant sign affects how you look more than your sun sign?

So do I look like a Libra (ascendant) or Capricorn (sun)?

well think about it like this. there are twelve houses in astrology, and the most important house is the first house (house of physical self, appearance, personality.) otherwise known as your ascendant. personally i believe your looks are from both your genetics (parents) and your ascendant, while your sun sign represents your ego and innerdrive, which i don't think it really has much to do with your physical appearance. so you will genetically look like your parents with physical characteristics of a libra.

Kinda, sorta.  You need to look at if your sun, or any planets in the fifth house, or any planets in the house your sun rules, or any planets in the house your sun is in aspects your ascendant, or its ruler, or any planet in that sign.  All of them will modify your appearance.

Your Ascendant is how you present yourself to the world. It's more intentional than the sun sign.

The Sun is who you are on the outside(looks and ego. Who *you* know you are-  conscious self.)

The Ascendant is who YOU ASPIRE to be. So that being said:

The Sun is what you are born with.

Your sun sign gives you your body type and your  colorings and your rising sign gives you your body shaping (smaller nuances, facial bone structure, etc)  And your moon sign usually affects your overall facial shape and eyes.

So as a Capricorn, you're typically bony, have poor posture, have dark hair and olive or darker skin, and with libra rising you're typically slender and tall, and look polished.

I actually think it's your sun sign that has a greater influence on your looks (if you believe in that sort of thing.) I used to live down the street from this guy who was really into astrology, and the first time I met him, he guessed my sun sign correctly just by looking at me.

Murphys_Law would be correct. She has GOT it! That's exactly how it is. You will look like a combination of your sun sign and your ascendant, but she pinned down exactly where the difference between them lies and how that will affect your appearance.

Depends on what you're looking for......a reason as to or I guess, addition to Why what Jackie F says is so (that's what Murphys_Law explained), or simply what Jackie F is sayin'.

Your rising sign COMPLIMENTS how you look. For instance; you may have traces of Capricorn, but you will look like a Libra.

Im a Cancer ascendant although i really dont think i look like one to be honest, although i guess i have some of the personality traits. Somehow i'd say i look more like a Capricorn than a Cancerian (five of my chart planets are in Capricorn).

The Capricorn appearance can usually include:

Full lips

Heavy lidded eyes

Dark hair

The Libra appearance is usually feminine in some way or can give out a very well mannered look.
