  1. Brazil

Because it's time to be South America to host the first South America Olympic.

Besides, the spirit of Latino must make the opening ceremony perfect.

  2. Each has their positives and negatives. One, if you think Chicago is violent, wander around Rio for a little while. I could see Rio winning so it could be the first South American city, but I just don't know if they have the infrastructure and safety to pull it off.

Madrid is ok, but it's two hours from London and I think people might be upset if Europe gets two in a row.

Chicago has some great plans for the Games, but people around the world get pissy about the US. I can see some anti-American issues here.

Tokyo seems most likely to get it. The only thing is that it is an awfully crowded city, I wonder how they would do with space for the athletes, families, media, etc., etc But, I can imagine it would be a good show.

  3. uhh tokyo

    help me man!

  4. You know that place

The place that next to that other place

    There

  5. Anywhere in the US is fine with me. Otherwise, the time difference makes it impossible to watch the games.

  6. Brazil have never hosted the olympics hence I reckon they should get a chance.

  7. Since the mayor of Chicago went to Beijing to see what China did, the more I see it Chicago is more likely to get it.

  8. afghanistan

  9. Madrid - maybe

    Tokyo - my favourite

Chicago - no, the US can wait a little longer for their next turn, they had it in 84 and 96. There are a lot of other countries in the world in case they didn't know

Rio - don't think so, the Brazilians couldn't organise a p**s-up in brewery

  10. The Vatican, and the Pope pays for everything.

  11. Brazil

  12. BRAZIL deserve it USA dont OMG people USA just had the Olympics in Atlanta 1996 and California in 1984. They dont deserve it; I hope Rio gets it. The games havnt been to South America yet. USA - Surely no chance. Madrid- Unlikely. Its probably out of Tokyo and Rio. Its definitely not fair if USA get it.

Id probably wouldnt mind it to go to Tokyo the time difference would be very close to Australias.

  13. Rio de Janeiro is my top choice. Then Tokyo, followed by Chicago.

I do NOT want Madrid to get it, because they brought racism into Beijing, but also into other sporting events when they make gorilla noises for black athletes and other awful things. Spain can't handle an international event like the Olympics!

  14. Madrid would be good, they have good standards in their sporting stadiums, and could be accommodating to all peoples, good idea.

  15. Southern Hemisphere, out of your choices Brazil. I think South Africa would be a good choice considering all the political changes they have made.

  16. If it has to be any of these, I would prefer Rio. But it's not just about sport, in which case the Games should be sited in Greece, with international support.

It's also about the great and good of the IOC globetrotting, and politicians grandstanding and securing their legacy. Love the sport, hate the politics!

  17. Tokyo, definatley - I'd watch it then ^^

The USA have enough money troubles to splash out on the games, the Brazilians will run the fastest where ever they are and Madrid would just be boring...maybe - my opinion.

  18. Rio all the way! It's about time the Olympics got a different flavour. Can you imagine the carnivals they would hold in honour? It would be magnificent! And we know that they would use the real people or Brazil, not bring in pretty fakes.

  19. Chicago or Rio. I live 3 hours for Chicago and have already made plans to go there. so I hope to god it's in ChiTown!

  20. Rio de Janeiro. the game should be hosted in a new continent. europe will host the 2012 game, north america has already done it in 1996, asia has just closed the beijing olympic.

it's time for south america to host the game. they haven't got a chance yet!

  21. Tokyo, imagine the technology that would be used in the Opening and Closing ceremony! It would be such a great lightshow and great performances.

Chicago, so China can show that they can earn the most gold again in the heart of another country.

  22. My choice is probably Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. South America have never hosted the Olympic Games, and I think Rio de Janeiro is the best place, as since the modern Olympic Games were started in 1896 in Athens, the USA have hosted it 4 times already, the most amount of times any country has held the Olympic Games. Now one continent has never hosted the Olympic Games (that being South America, and also not including Antartica) and if the Olympic Games is about the world contributing, then many of the countries in the world should be given permission to host it. It should also be convenient for people to watch it on T.V. This is quite hard to do though, because there is no place in the world convenient for everyone, so therefore it should be switched round each 4 years so it is fair. The one comment that someone has made about USA being the only sensible place to hold the Olympic Games is unfair to the rest of the world, as it would mean that only North America, South America and perhaps Europe would be able to watch it live. The fact that the USA media paid Beijing to show the swimming earlier than usual was quite unfair, as it meant that Europe, Africa and Western Asia could not watch it, just so they could. Japan hosted the Athletic World Championships just last year, so they shouldn't really host the Olympic Games now, and 2012 is being hosted in London, so it would be unfair for Spain to then host it, as it would mean that Europe has host it on consecutive occaisions. This i my reasoning.

  23. Chicago, U.S.A

  24. USA of course

however after china... we might look pretty cheap

chicago is within driving distance for me!!! wahooo

  25. Rio de Janiero, but if I had my own pick I would say maybe New York

  26. as much as i love our country, i would say tokyo!

    i love tokyo so much.

chicago is just way too glum and mucky.

don't get me wrong, i love chicago.

the olympics would be awesome in tokyo :]

  27. Rio, because the other countries have already hosted Olympics.

  28. Chicago, because it hits right home for all the midwesterners!

Rio because time change would be non existant for most in U.S. and NBC wouldn't continue the bs they put up in Beijing about live events etc.

    then tokyo

    then madrid

    USA USA USA!

  29. Look. The best possible choice is Madrid because timezone is 0+

  30. I'm from the Chicago area, raised on the South side. I hope

that Rio de Janiero gets the 2016 Olympics. Chicago Is

just too violent of a city for the Olympics. Believe me, I know!

  31. First choice- TOKYO!!

    2nd Madrid

    3rd Rio de janerio

    Very last- Chicago

    TOKYO 2016!!!!
