  1. Your first sentence states that this product will be successful in any country that has a substantial population.  So I would start with getting a list of all the countries in the world and their population and sort them by population with the largest countries first.  You can do this by:

    1) Go to Yahoo! Education > Reference > World Factbook > Country Comparisons Index > Population Density

    2) On the chart click twice on the heading "Population" and write down the top 20 (or 50 or whatever you choose) countries

Next find the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the GDP per capita of each country.  This will tell you how much each country produces per year in total and by person average.  This will give you a good idea about which countries have money to spend.

    3) Go to Yahoo! Education > Reference > World Factbook > Country Comparisons Index > GDP Statistics

    4) Search for each country that you wrote down in step #2 and now write down the GDP and GDP per capita for those countries

Choose some other demographics that might be helpful to you and record those also.  For example, if your product is age specific you may need to know the population by age group.

    5) Go to Yahoo! Education > Reference > World Factbook > Country Comparisons Index

    6) Select an index type and write down the numbers for each country

    7) Do a google search on "country demographics" and get more information about your top 20 countries

    Good luck!
