  1. Definition of homelessness

    homelessness

n : the state or condition of having no home (especially the

state of living in the streets)

As defined in: WordNet (r) 2.0

  2. Not having a home is not having a safe place to return to every night after work or school. You can have a shelter but not a real home with a nurturing, loving family.

  3. Someone who has no where to lay there heads at night

  4. Being homeless means not having a home to live in. Don't overthink it! If a kid is living in a car or on the street, that kid is homeless.

  5. Being without a home to go to.  Living in shelters, a car or where ever you can find.

  6. well if YOU want it to be deep,,,then YOU are the best person to write it,,,using your views,,,

  7. Homeless is without a home OF YOUR OWN.  Meaning, there are lots of families out there that move from relative to relative and crash w/ friends, but are able to avoid sleeping in cars and shelters.  Sleeping in cars, shelters, and in boxes or whatever is also homeless, but only one form of it.

Imagine coming "home" from school (your aunt's house).  You have some homework to do, but your two cousins are playing video games on the TV and sitting on your bed, the couch.  You mom and aunt are in the kitchen, and you are not allowed in the only two bedrooms in the house.  How do you study?  How do you get your homework done?  Even if it gets done, it won't be as good as it could have been if you had your own bedroom and quiet space.

Just some thoughts on the topic.  Perhaps if you were to go speak w/ some middle and high school social workers, they could give you some insight.

  8. Homelessness can actually mean ALOT of different things guys, yes of course the most obvious answer is WITHOUT A HOME=HOME LESS, get it?? Yes...well think about it...really, think about it.

Homelessness could mean you have a home, but not welcome there, and if you DO go there, your shunned.

It could mean that you don't have a caring home to come home to...

You know, like when they say A house is not a home??

You actually have to "live" there for it to become a home...

There is ways to overthink this, and I really think you should, don't let them think your just another senior, so ready to get out of HS you don't even care about your grad. paper, amaze them, amaze...yourself..

  9. Homelessness is not having a regular place to put the things that help you live your daily life.  If you're homeschooled and your family's home is an RV that travels across the country, you're not homeless.  You very likely have your own place to put your own things.

I never thought of the characters on the TV show, "Promised Land," as homeless, and they fit the description of the homeschooling RV family.

Homelessness is also not having a close group of people (family or friends) to have your back no matter how badly you behave.

    Hope these links help.

  10. living under an overpass in a cardboard box and using a shopping cart for storage - come visit us sometime

  11. Having no where to go.  No one taking you in.  Living in a shelter.  Living out of a car.  Not being an owner/renter.  No roof over your head is homeless.  Now, some "moochers" could be called homeless, but I'd find a way to not include those people.  Are you just focusing on education..or do you mean same opportunities as other kids their age.  You could talk about their health.  How do they get treatment, do they?  How much do they pay, how long do they have to wait.  Do they miss school due to illness more often than kids who have a home.  I also think homeless means no job.

  12. I really feel like you should be doing this on your own.
