  1. When I was a little girl, I always dreamed that I'd have a Cinderella themed wedding on Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World. I'm planning my actual wedding now, and it's pretty close, other than the fact that my budget isn't gonna allow for the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World part....

  2. My dream wedding was to be married on the beach at sunset. Wearing a very simple white cotton dress, him in a pair of khaki shorts and a white button down shirt. The minister and a photographer. our actual wedding was at a park in a gazebo. Nice dinner reception at the house I lived in with a lady and two other room mates (which they promptly ruined). To spend my honeymoon at a B&B (instead I HAD to spend it entertaining hubby's mother and hateful sister). TG were having a renewal of vows.

    good luck. :)

  3. I always dreamed of having an outdoor evening wedding, and I ended up doing an indoor daytime wedding.  I'm not sure what actually changed my mind.  I think it was because I wanted to have it outdoors in the dark on a warm summer night.  The parks I looked at in my area all closed by the time it got dark.  Plus, the last wedding I'd been to had been a park wedding in the summer.  And while the location was beautiful, the weather ended up not cooperating so well.  They also didn't have chairs for anybody other than their parents and grandparents during the ceremony, and as a guest, it was uncomfortable having to stand the entire time.  I knew a place where it would be convenient to have it indoors, and I knew my mom was going to really love the place, so I ended up gravitating towards having it there.

  4. The budget!  I never dreamed I would be able to afford the wedding we're having, but we are!  Since I kind of "grew up" in the bridal industry I know how it works and what stuff costs, so my dream wedding was really inexpensive, usually all the money-saving tricks I know (off day, off time, off season, etc).  But my fiance wanted a really traditional Saturday evening sit-down/dance reception.

Since we can afford it with out parents offering help and our savings/budget plan, we're having his dream wedding!  I just never thought I would have such a beautiful, traditional wedding.  I'm very excited about it.

I never really dreamed of the 'details' of me wedding, because I knew that my styles and tastes would change, so other than the general idea (Christmas wedding) I didn't have much of a dream.  So it's kind of good my fiance had such an exact idea of what he wanted.  No we're just having fun looking for all the little details that will really make it our dream day (as long as we DON'T go over budget!)

  5. I always dreamed of a real princess wedding, though the details were fuzzy to me. When my FH finally proposed, We both talked about and fleshed out the fantasy.

Dream;  A romantic ceremony in a gondola in Venice.

    Reality; A gondola ceremony in a gondola at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas;

My dream wedding gown, a combination of these two gowns; http://18thcenturycorsets.smugmug.com/ga...

Reality, a discontinued PC Mary's gown that may or may not be a copy; http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dr...

My dream wedding rings; http://www.dbof.com/images/tacoriBG.jpg in yellow gold with yellow diamonds. Matching wedding jewelry.

Reality; Pretty close! A Tacori-style yellow gold eternity band with deep yellow and white diamonds, and an antique Victorian ring with a .25 ct cognac diamond surrounded by champagne diamonds.

My dream reception; A masquerade ball in Venice during Carnivale, followed by a honeymoon touring the South of  France. Everyone in ballgowns and tuxedos, waltzing to an orchestra.

Reality; He bought us a house. We're staying there alone for one night(his parents are staying with us for a week). No honeymoon, he's got to go back on duty. We'll probably eat at a buffet and maybe get to toast in front of the fountains at my favorite hotel. There's no way he'll dance at all unless I force him. I'm giving masks as wedding favors, hoping every one will wear them for the toast.

I don't want to make this as long as it could be, so I'll stop there. I'm getting depressed. But I still LOVE my rings(even though they only cost about 15% of the amount of the ones I wanted), and my gown.

I still get to wear a tiara...

  6. Your budget can really change everything. I always thought my wedding would be in the fall with calla lillies. However, I'm planning a spring wedding with Tulips (we didn't want to wait till the fall, and tulips are affordable and perfect for spring). My real wedding is going to be beautiful and perfect even though it is quite different then what I dream of as a child.

    My dream wedding: A Band

My actual wedding: A great interactive DJ, that does the hula hoop.

  7. the difference is location - I wanted to get married at a manor ...something very elegant, however, our budget didn't allow that.

Also, my dream wedding had a honey moon - we have out of town guests we have to entertain =(
