Your favorite Contact Lenses?

Question

what kind of contact lenses are your favorite?

right now i am using the Baush & Lomb ones, the optician recommended them to me when i had my eye exam, i like them alright, but before i had these i was using the Acuvue 2 and i liked them better because they feel more comfortable

these two have been the only ones i have used for my whole 5 years of using contact lenses, wanted to get people's preferences with a reason why

In my opinion Acuvue is the best lens out there.  Everyone has their different reasons for what they like best.  In the office I work in Acuvue is pretty much all we dispense or recommend.

Acuvue 2's are a good ol' stand-by lens, really.  Not bad on optics, not bad on health, not bad on comfort.  All around a not bad lens.  Kind of like a Buick.

But, our Vistakon (the company who makes Acuvue) reps have been making noises about discontinuing the AV2 lens within the next couple of years.  So....you'll have to switch lenses sooner or later, like it or not.  

It sounds like you may have been given the PureVision lens by Bausch and Lomb.  That is a very good lens, and should be better than the AV2 in every category.  However, contacts are like trying on shoes.  I may love Nikes, but the same size doesn't fit in a New Balance.  People prefer different contact lens brands the same way.

So, what's good about the newer lenses, like the Oasys?  They have better optical designs, better comfort, and the huge one....better oxygen transmission to the cornea.  They have silicone in them, which sucks O2 toward your eye, which is good.

What lenses do I like best.... (for little or no astigmatism)

Acuvue Oasys, Cooper Biofinity, B&L PureVision, Proclear 1 Day, Acuvue 1 Day Moist, and I'm still experimenting with the new Cooper Avaira but it seems to be doing pretty well.

What would I wear for contacts?  Dailies.  Because you get a new lens every day, not much chance for gunk build-up or infections, and they're really good for dry eyes and allergy eyes.

I use freshlook. They're a covergirl contact, and when I get the clears they are extremely comfortable, but once in awhile I like switching up my eye color and I can with this brand. The color change is really subtle and only an extra 10 dollars for a box. The colors are freshlook colorblends.

I have the acuvue oasys and I don't really like them all that much. They're supposed to stay moist, which I have trouble with when wearing contacts, and they have not been any better than the other brands I have tried. I think the regular acuvue 2 were just as good, and less expensive.

I think you should go back to Acuvue 2. It's WAY better!

I use Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism and it feels like your not even wearing them.
