  4. I love empire cafe off westheimer!

  5. Maribelle's on Bath St in Seabrook TX 77586. You can bring your animals inside and they have a bar with swings outside. Free food every weekday during happy hour.

  6. Oh Two Brothers Pasta is a great hole in the wall itailan place its great. It is run by 2 brothers from New York and the food is like walking into Italy. The atmosphere is dim lighting and quiet and the music is great the wait staff is small and remembers you every time. But because it is small get there early on the weekends.

  7. There's this diner that I really like, and the OLD location was a true hole in the wall. This one has cleaned up it's act and moved to a new location.

Sam's Deli Diner is a burger place that has breakfasts, too. Check them out on b4-u-eat.com... what they hey, I'll give you the link:

It isn't ethnic, but rather Americana/Texana from a bygone day. I only really get to visit once a month, but I really like it. You'll have to try their milkshakes, because they're made with BlueBell.

Let's see what else... there's a great Tex-Mex place that has also been around for ages. La Fiesta is on Bunker Hill, just south of the Katy Freeway (same strip center as Kobe restaurant, Specs, and Quiznos... or if you come in from the Katy Freeway service road, in the same lot as Mr. C's Bar). My wife and I go here once a month at least. I've written about this place in the past, so old-timers on here know I'm repeating myself.

Another good "hole in the wall" place. Cafe Lili, on Westheimer near the Galleria. Lebanese food. Super fresh.

  8. Fogot name but near the Houston (traffic) downtown courthouse (like 2-3 blocks on left side across from Police equipment store)

  9. The Kelvin Arms, a Scottish pub on the corner of Dunstan and Kelvin in Rice Village.

  10. Any of the tacos or enchiladas at Tacos by Julio on Longpoint.  This is a true hole in the wall.

  11. LaCarafe (beer) in downtown Houston.  Barbeque Inn (not just barbeque) on Yale for an experience from the 60s.  Aunt Bea's on 45/Tidwell for great breakfast.  Miller's Cafe on N. Shepherd for hamburgers and homemade fries.

  12. Frank's Grill on Mangum

  13. We love going to Cafe Adobe and Churrascos for a night out, just depends on how much money you want to spend.

  15. Restaurants

Christian's Totem on Washington St. near I-10 - Burgers and Catfish

Niko Niko's on Montrose and Westheimer - Greek Salad with Gyro meat

    taco stands

El Tiempo Meat Market on Washington St. (next door to El Tiempo Cantina) - anything on the steam  table

    ethnic flavors

Cali Sandwich Shop on Louisiana Ave and Elgin - Vietnamese BBQ Pork Sandwich , Vietnamese Egg Rolls and Chicken Pho

  16. I hate going to houston, basically because I hate visiting my grandoma. haha

But I would always go to Baby A's with her (or at least I think it was Baby A's)

Austin has all the best places though!!  If your ever in Austin, go to Kirby lane and get there pancakes.  I swear, you'll never want to have anyone else's.
