  1. ohhhh....1crossmare.....you funny, funny girl...!

This is a trick question, isn't it?   lol!

    EDIT:

    ok funny girl....I'll play.

    How bout this:

Riding is a team activity where you must pay attention to your horse and your surroundings. Ipods are distracting and have no business on the trail.....yada, yada, yada...ad nauseum...

  2. What's on my iPod? While I'm riding, a layer a dust. I do confess, I own one, though! But honestly, who listens to music while your riding?!? Make up your mind! If your gonna ride, ride. If your gonna listen to music, listen to music! 100 miles, though! That would be awesome to do- and very painful after wards! Hehe.

  3. Nothing!  I'm listening to the sounds of the woods, my horse and my fellow equestrians.

  4. I would go with out it and leave it at home.  I love my horse and I think it would be annoying or distracting to him and maybe dangerous, too.  I love listening to the birds and the sounds of nature, why would I want to take an ipod on a horse.  I have trouble lighting a cigarette and holding onto it! lol

I only listen to my ipod to help me get my housework done faster!    And, I would probably never go on a 100 mile trail ride either.  But if I did, I wouldn't be listening to an ipod.  I would be busy listening to the people on the trail with me so I would know what's going on ahead of me.

  5. There's a battery and some electrical stuff things in my iPod. And why am I going on a 100 mile trail ride? My butt will fall off about mile 2.

  6. um an ipod on a trail ride? if i want music the only music my horse and i get is me singing some totally off tune hit

my horses ear swivel like crazy hah

and my horse would be going crazy if the trail ride really was 100 miles geez

no i save the ipod for the boring car rides

  7. For all of you old enough to know what an 8-track is and what a record looks like:

A horse with no name by America.

Ya see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name it fealt good to be out of the rain, in the desert you can remember your name cuz there ain't no one there to give you no shame.  La La La Latadada La Ta da da ....

Everyone sing along and try to remember the 70's...

Some of us were there but have little memory of the time.

  8. some barry white, i will play it while we are making sweet love down by the fire.

  9. think I may have missed the point here...

Anyway chances of me going on a 100mile ride are somewhat remote to say the least.

anyway I don't have an Ipod - I have a cheapo generic MP3 player but I never take that when I ride anyway, I think it would be annoying and dangerous.

  10. i wouldnt take my ipod. i prefer to enjoy the piece and quiet with my horse

  11. I would never go for a ride that  long... EVER!! lol

  12. In my ipod I would take....

    water

    hoofpick

    feed

    snacks

    fly spray

    Hun? You talking about this?

If not I am totally puzzled! Or is it some kinda song?

    *scratches head*

    :-P

  13. My ipod is the sound of the wind, the clop-clop of the horses hooves, the creak of saddle leather. What else would you want? really?

Edit-BB I'm the same way but I am not allowed to sing on my horse. She wont let me. Don't blame here though, my singing voice sounds like there is a war in me esophagus.

    And both sides are loosing.

  14. why does it matter what we have in our ipods when we're "going on a super long ride"? i would get my butt going and getting everything i need and making sure i'm not forgetting anything.

if you really must know what songs i have in my ipod, i don't have one. if i did, i'd have just about all the modern ish country songs and christian rock.

    lol

  15. I agree with gypsy....in my opinion if you go on a trail ride it's to not only exercise your horse but to enjoy the woods

  16. A 100 mile trail ride?! Haha I'm too old to be in the saddle for that long!!

Okay, if I were to ride for that long I would leave my ipod at home... What's the point in riding 100 miles if you're only going to be listening to your ipod? The whole reason to go is to be with your horse...Not to mention the fact that you should be paying 100 % of your attention on your horse.

Why do I have an ipod? I never use it but aparently my daughters thought I needed one for christmas.

Ahh! I know there's some kind of trick question here...LOL!! I don't know!!

  17. Most likely a layer of dust since I never use it when I ride.  I do when I am in the yard gardening, but not around the horses.

Happy Trails to you until we meet again!!!

Rollin rolling rollin, keep them doggies strollin, Geez my butt is swollen....Rawhide!!!!

    **EDIT**

What?  You no like the words to my song?  I figure after a 100 miles in the saddle, the words would be more than accurate!!!  HA HA!!!

Hey BB were you singing this afternoon?  The reason I ask is that a big flock of birds took off out of the trees like something scared them.  Then I saw your answer to this question!!!!  LOL!!!

    You & hubby have a GREAT 4th!!!

Same to you American & everyone else!

  18. think an ipod would be dangerous lol. plus my pony woukd try and eat it. not good! plus if he heard anything like what my brother listens to, then he would go mental mental chicken oriental! if i'm traveling to a venue where the ride might take place, i'll put a complete mix of music on, then turn it off until the ride is over!

  19. ipod?????  I don't need no stinking ipod!

Its batteries will be dead anyway long before the ride is finished unless you are doing endurance where you are finishing in 24 to 48 hours.  Otherwise 100 miles will take 5 days or so.

  20. I decided to leave it at home next to my cell phone.  Oh, wait I don't own either - I guess my horse will have to suffer through my singing.

  21. I don't bring an ipod with me while i ride.. I like to enjoy the quietness of nature when I ride...I want too hear the birds and the other sounds...I want to know what is going on around me too for safety sake...You really should leave that ipod home, and enjoy the real world now and then.

  22. I'm with Kicking Bear! I don't own either! I love the sounds of nature.  The birds & what ever else comes along. I love the beautiful outside music!

    ******edit*****

    BB~~~ I hear ya!! LOL

  23. What's an ipod??

    *giggle*

**EDIT...Ohhhhhhh, *reading other answers* that thingy that hangs as a fashion accessory from most NON HORSE people out on the trails???

I'm evil...I would think it was funny to put said 'ipod wearer' ahead of me on the trail...then fade into the woods and follow at a discreet distance and see how long it was before they realized they were 'lost.'  This won't work in a wide open area...but I would stop and stand there...and see how far away they moved from me.

They DON'T belong on a person on a horse....100 miles or 1 mile...

For the record...I don't own one...I sing songs I know [or don't] and make up my own words to fill in what's missing...

****EDIT...I see Blue makes up her own words too!

Kevin...mine had to be 'desensitized' to my voice!  It was coming whether they wanted to hear it or not!!

  24. Oh what fun...!

    In my ipod would be:

    Counting Crows

    Dire Straits

    the Scorpions

    Lucinda Williams

    Elvis

    Three doors Down

    Death cab for Cutie

    Smashing Pumpkins

    Thats just to start with....
