1. can you see any examples of poetic lanuage in the lyrics?

2. Can you see and examples of poetic devices? personification, rhythm, irony etc

When I see your smile

Tears roll down my face I can't replace

And now that I'm strong I have figured out

How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul

And I know I'll find deep inside me I can be the one

I will never let you fall (let you fall)

I'll stand up with you forever

I'll be there for you through it all (through it all)

Even if saving you sends me to heaven

It's okay. It's okay. It's okay.

Seasons are changing

And waves are crashing

And stars are falling all for us

Days grow longer and nights grow shorter

I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall (let you fall)

I'll stand up with you forever

I'll be there for you through it all (through it all)

Even if saving you sends me to heaven

Cuz you're my, you're my, my, my true love, my whole heart

Please don't throw that away

Cuz I'm here for you

Please don't walk away and

Please tell me you'll stay woah, stay woah

Use me as you will

Pull my strings just for a thrill

And I know I'll be okay

Though my skies are turning gray

I will never let you fall

I'll stand up with you forever

I'll be there for you through it all

Even if saving you sends me to heaven

  1. The poem is beautiful and very emotional, at least, to me.

    I love it!

    "PLease don't walk away..."

There is one that I love too.

    Please, read it:

    My Guardian Angel

    My angel's right beside me,

    wherever I may go,

    keeping close watch over me,

he's my husband don't you know.

God took him away from me,

    not so long ago,

but he promised he'd never leave me,

dear lord I miss him so.

But I know he's right beside me,

    wherever I may go,

    for he's my guardian angel,

my love, my life, my soul.

In loving memory of Jerry Joe Webb

I do hope you like it.

  2. hello

very good question... this is actually a really kewl poem/lyrics - song

I like the songs I have heard from this group to date... but that is me...

the lyrics you ask to have some assistance with identifying -

1: poetic language.... it is poetry (the lyrics) and therefore is by nature poetic language...

2: poetic devices - the first stanza has an image of cold breaking thru the soul.. this would be an example of metaphoric usage

      - when I read this the tempo is the rhythm -beat used

      - irony; I did not see - but may not have read thoroughly enough

      - personification would be the animation or giving life to inanimate

         --objects

thank you for taking the time to read this

    hope I was of assistance

    have a great day

    much luck
