Your local bank made a mistake on your printed checks. Additionally,

the bank charged you for the checks, even though the order was supposed to be

complimentary for customers opening a new account. How would you draft a letter

that allows your irritation to work for, rather than against, you?

  1. Please continue.

  2. Additionally..........?  If they made a mistake, you need to go to the bank immediately and have them correct the problem and it should not cost you anything, their error.  If that was not your question, sorry.

  3. It would be better to go to your local bank personally instead of writing them a letter. Take the misprinted checks with you and the documentation showing the checks were supposed to be free. They should clear the charges and reissue the checks. Writing a letter will prolong the process and is really not necessary at this point....plan on writing one though should they refuse to give you the checks or reprint them for free.

  4. The bank is responsible for the fee.

The check order will have you call the printing company.

    Dear Bank,

I am a new customer.  I was told that the first order of checks would be free, yet when I check my account online, I am finding a charge of $22.83.

    Please explain,

    Harvey
