**Winter took it's sweet time in coming last winter. While waiting at a traffic light, the first snow flake fell. This was my inspiration.**
Winter's Embrace
Moist patches of flurriers,
Swirl into a white blanket falling
Across an ashen road.
Softly they fall and
Fill the space
With dotted whiteness
They hurry left, then right,
And criss-cross in the middle
Keeping time with the beat of traffic.
Even hooded, a layer of icy dew
Melts upon my lashes
And I joyously accept winter's embrace.
