  1. im totally with tezza 24.

its just a form of measurement.

  2. Certainly. If we compare the birth, life, death of a human being with that of a monsoon insect who is born at night, procreates, his children grow up,marry etc and in the morning they are all dead. The monsoon insect's whole life is just one night.Likewise a dog has a life span of about 15yrs and it looks to him as 100years of full life.

  3. Time is a concept. The present lasts only as it is. A second of reality is relative. That second of reality may be real to someone but not to another. Try holding something in your hand for that second. When you freeze that object in your hand, you don't freeze the universe, but only your hand. In principle, you can't even identify the present because once a word is uttered or a breathe released it is already the past. We term it "a while ago".

The present is the most fragile element in time, which could be described as "as I speak" to denote the time of the present reality, as claimed by the speaker -- his reality. And he admits that it is finite! Another thing might be happening somewhere which could be directly opposite his reality "as he speaks". It is already happening and you can not hold a second a second longer to make two different realities in perfect parallel. And nobody controls the present!

The past, like the present, is very intangible. We own our past through the memories we keep. But how do we say that we own our past when we can not do anything on it. It is not a thing we could alter nor discard. It owns us. We only look back at it with fond memories and sometimes bitter feelings. That's why we keep souvenirs to remind us of the things we've done and the places we' ve been, otherwise there would be no proof of the that reality. Mementos remind us. But they don't mean that we could own the past where we got them.

Sometimes we were not too sure of that past that we call our own. We would have other people who shared that particular past with us verify it through going back to the memory lane and reliving the events that the passing of time had fractured to semi recognition. We could be left wondering, "Did it really happen that way?"

  4. I think so. Not only it was also said by Einstein. Time is actually an illusion. There is such a limit in the time. If we mention about time counting (date, hour, etc), that is only for managing our activities.

  5. An illusion from the eternal point of view.

But reality from the material point of view.

The eternal quest is to have the first to overcame the second. More on my bio.

  6. Space-time continuum.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_time

"In physics, spacetime is any mathematical model that combines space and time into a single construct called the spacetime continuum. Spacetime is usually interpreted with space being three-dimensional and time playing the role of the fourth dimension. According to Euclidean space perception, the universe has three dimensions of space, and one dimension of time. By combining space and time into a single manifold, physicists have significantly simplified a large number of physical theories, as well as described in a more uniform way the workings of the universe at both the supergalactic and subatomic levels."

    Gravity and time have connection.

Thats why time basically stops "near" black hole.

Special relativity suggests that you can time travel, but only to the future. If you are forwarding to the speed of light, time will pass slower & if you went into orbit around the earth with that speed, for few years, and come back, many more years could have passed while you were going around the orbit. This is so because the faster you travel, the slower the time goes. This is called time dilation.

Our perception of time may be an illusion, but physics states that time itself is part of the "real world".

  7. Yes. Time is an illusion with a "framework of birth, aging and death" making its existence looks like real.

The concept of "hours of day and night" is a man made concept of time inside the real concept of Time.

  8. I dont think time itself exists- its a measurement put on lifes sections by man whether it be hours minutes days or weeks. however i dont think the moovement of 'time' is an illusion, i.e I believe in the past, present and future.

  9. for me yeah. time is only a measurement just like meter and miles. we age because of our endocrine system and not by time.. :)

  10. No. It's been created as real.
