Your opinion is really needed while I wait?

Okay so I'm sorry if this is a little confusing. I miscarried naturally at 11 weeks a month ago. I started to feel similar pregnancy symptoms this past weekend and so I bought some tests, I took one Friday and nothing, Saturday a light line, Sunday a light line, Monday a light line. I went in to get my beta hcg blood work done today at the doctor's office and I have to wait until Thursday to get the results, but my dr. thinks that this may still be hormones from the miscarriage-although she acknowledges it might also be a new pregnancy. My question to you is how can they still be hormones from the miscarriage if I got a negative test on Friday followed by three positive tests the next three days? What do you think, am I pregnant or is this residual hormones?

  1. It is possible to get a false positive at- home pregnancy test, but not a false negative. Basically, there may still be hormones left over from your pregnancy which may be the cause of your positive tests. I would trust your doctor and do your best not to get your hopes up if you were looking forward to another pregnancy. Although, it could be possible that you are pregnant again so it is good that you went to see the doctor for the test. Good luck!

  2. If I had to guess I would say its just hormones left over. But I'm no doctor and could very well be wrong. I hope for your sake things turn out the way you want them to. Good Luck.

  3. I am betting you are not pregnant, and that it is just hormones from the miscarraige. But, as everyone said, only the doc can know for sure. And I would request an ultrasound if the HcG levels are not back to pre-pregnancy levels.

As for the one who said you can't get a false negative... yes you can! My sister had THREE of them, she took four tests in one day, only one came out positive (she was freaking out cause it was baby #4). And she was prego! It is very easy to get false negatives, esp if you take the test too early.

  4. It would be impossible to tell without an ultrasound. Although I did get pregnant just 2 weeks after my miscarriage. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Good luck though.

  5. if you miscarried a month ago i would not think there would be pregnancy hormones still.

my opinion is it's a new pregnancy but i am no doctor.

  6. You have to wait for the blood tests results. Compared to the urine test, blood test is always more accurate.

    Good Luck!!!!!!!!

  7. i think that the doc is right and that these are the hormones from the last pregnancy, dont forget, the test u did on friday.....that test stick could have been faulty. i really dont think that u are pregnant again, but only ur doc can tell u for sure. take care of urself.... :)

  8. my sister in law had a mc last december and she got pregnant before she had a period. she was suppose to be getting her hcg levels checked to make sure they were going down and they were. she missed a couple of weeks and went back a month later and her levels still were not down and she talked to the dr and he said it could either be tissue left over from the mc(did not have a d&c) or she could be pregnant again. luckily she was pregnant again bc the de said if it was tissue, then it could become cancerous. so, hopefully, you are pregnant and its not tissue
