  1. If you were taught to believe that drugs were a way to reach higher beings, you would believe it. (plus im sure its enjoyable, all the bonus)

Just like if you believed the story of creation, flood, jesus, etc, you would believe it all.

  2. I have used mushrooms and have had a religious experience on it.  I saw Odin's face in the treetops, the leaves forming his face, and I was talking with him, communicating with him, and feeling myself being pulled down into the underworld as this was happening.

Odin's most primordial aspect is that of the wind.  Suddenly without warning a wind came buy blowing dust and debris with it, and a thunderstorm from no where came.  We were camping in the mountains, and the storm wasn't a hallucination.  It was perfect timing.

Also, the fact that when I'm on something, I speak to my Gods, only confirms for me that Asatru is the right religion for me.

Traditionally, the state of intoxication from Alcohol was considered a sacred state of awareness by the old Norse.

  3. All hokus-pokus.

  4. I'm sure they all experienced interesting highs.  All religion is, however, bunk, highs or no.

  5. who wouldn't see crazy c**p if you took that stuff

  6. They probably enjoy getting high.

  7. Do you mean ethnogenic?
