Its E.U. by the way, and, they're working fine. The U.N. needs to become a little more assertive and not be filled with a bunch of people that can't decide to do anything important.

If the U.N. is for World Peace, why don't they ever leave any nation that they choose to occupy?  America as part of the U.N. has been dragged into many many nations for these missions which seems to be more about keeping the status quo of world politics then seeking a lasting piece.  Besides, they didn't stop the Cold War from going Nuclear--the Nukes and other more structured international treaties did.  They don't stop Genocide, they can't function if one of the Permanent SC Members vetos, which is in nearly all cases.  And  at the Moment most nations don't look favoriblly in giving the U.N. more power than it has, as then we could be forced to sign treaties on disarmament, or giving our nukes to the U.N.  More power concentrated to a smaller group is always such a dangerous thing.

Don't you mean the EU and not the UE?

the whole point of the UN is to keep world wide peace but it doesn't work because not every country is in the UN and they don't go along with the rules. The EU on the other hand is centred in Europe and is to give countries that are classed as poor because they can not bring in a good enough income to support themselves. The EU does look like it is a waste of tax payers money as it doesn't give back the same to Britain as it gives but Britain is fincally secure compared to other countries.

The European Union is an economic, political, and cultural union of the European countries.

Both are good because lately the United States have become worrying war mongers with a negative impact on global economy, exampled by the dramatic drop in the value of the Dollar, which unfortunately has impact on our economies in Europe, and not for the best. One wonders if the links  of our former neo-communist leader with the dimwit in charge on the other side of the pond were so good indeed. Thank you.

Both are useless talking shops for failed politicians. Both should be closed as an unnecessary expense to the taxpayers of England and any other country with money and a strong economy in Europe. Close both I say and the sooner the better.
