My husband & I've been TTC since The end of March, In 2005 I had a misscarriage & dr told me that I should be able to get pregnant again no problems... Well so far ever since we've been trying we've had nothing but BFN's && I've kept track on my ovu schedule I just haven't done the Temp tracking. Ever since we started TTC my period cycle changed from a normal 28 days never EVER had any early/late periods they were always percise..now they're every 23-25 days why is that?? && Went to OB/GYN last week 4 annual check up & all was great... I'm taking Prenatal's & Folic acid & Vitex everyday...we just got a OPK today & pre-seed w/baby dust =) .. Am I doing everything right in your opinions? & Why did my cycle just change like so. Any more helpful tips or suggestions. Am I just thinking 5 months is such a long time to concieve or is it really not?? PLEASE NO RUDE ANSWERS, Thanks in advance!

  1. What made you pick up the Vitex?  Vitex can impact your LH surge & pituitary gland which could potentially be throwing off your cycle . . .Given that you conceived before, I would consider dropping it and seeing if your cycle returns to normal.  Vitex works for some women with feritlity issues . . . but if you do not have a specific reason to be on it - then it could be messing with your body.

If your cycle has gotten shorter - you will want to use the OPKs to identify ovulation and make sure that your luteal phase is still 10 days or more . . . if your luteal phase has shortened with your cycle, that could be impacting things.

5 months is really not that long to have been trying - it can take up to a year for some couples.

Melatonin has not been studied all that thoroughly on pregnancy and breast feeding . . . but this too is a hormone that could be impacting things.

Did you tell your doctor that you were trying to conceive, are on Vitex and Melatonin?  They would be best able to discuss possible interactions.

So many over-the-counter remedies seem promising but they are not always fully studied, interactions happen and are not as regulated as FDA certified medications.

I would contact the doctor again and go through all ot this.

    Good luck & baby dust!

  2. i pray 4 u dear

  3. try IVF

  4. It's still only been 5-6 months which is perfectly normal (at least that's what I keep trying to tell myself hahaha)

secondly I suspect that the things you are taking could be affecting your cycle and you should consider temping to verify your luteal phase as suggested by somebody else.

Finally I don't know about melatonin but there is a tea/vitamin called valerian (sp?) which can help you sleep...don't know if there is any danger with ttc though...also a nice bath with some lavendar scented essential oil

  5. Blimey.

Calm down. Relax. Breathe in, and out...don't try so hard. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen, but the more you worry about numbers and get stressed about the 'right' way to do it, the more that's going to affect it. It's incredible how many people try to conceive, and then as soon as they decide to take a break and stop worrying, they end up pregnant.

Try some meditation. Have fun with your husband. Stop stressing so much. If you've only been trying for a few months, that is not a long time. Again, just relax.
