Your opinon on the end of the world.

Question

Theres speculation that the world will end on December 21st 2012. This is because the mayan calender runs out on this date. Why did they think it would end? Because, according to the mayans, all the planets will aline and something catastrophic will happen [i need to ask my uncle bill more on this- thats all i know so far]

Not on 2012, a partial destruction of 3/4 of the planet. More likely something coming up on October 7, 2008 than in 2012. Complete world dissolution along with the universe around 3051.

Plus I would think that the only reason the mayan calendar ran out at that date is coincidence, it is because the mayans themselves unfortunately didn't live long enough to extend it. According to many other schools of thought and philosophy the end of the world isn't going to happen in any of our lifetimes, there is a lot of time remaining for that.

No one really knows when any of the many cycles on the Mayan calendar end, because the Mayans are not here to explain it to anyone. No one can offer more than a wild guess about such matters, and it is impossible to give specific dates from wild guesses. The Mayans did not say anything about any planetary alignments. That explains nothing anyhow. It is absurd to talk about planets aligning and causing disasters. How could it? Some charlatan invented this nonsense and he or others added trash to it. Someone should do some research on this, rather than blindly believing whatever a scoundrel invented. I have bet some men $1000 apiece that doomsday will not be in 2012. You have many things wrong. What is the source of your misinformation?

It will get here when it gets here and there is nothing I can do about it.  All I can do is make sure I live one day at a time and live them to the max; reaching out to those less fortunate than me and staying in close contact with God.

BTW Interesting you reference the Mayans who did not even see the end of their world?  So how do you think they can predict the end of ours?

12/21/2012 has NOTHING to do with the end of the world. I don't know why people insist on s******g that up.

My opinion on TEOTW...couldn't come soon enough. This Sunday evening would be as good a time as any. The Giant Meteor theory is what I'm hoping for...as long as I have time to grab a bottle and turn on some blues, me and the Schnauzer will sit out or last few minutes chillin' on the deck.

There is no end of the world. There might be the end of humanity, but even if humans end up extinct, the planet will still be here and some other species will evolve and be the dominant species on the planet
