  1. well I thought I had the perfect horse. She loved me.. but bited everyone else. so they sold her. I was so sad. I kept track how many days that she was gone. It was excalty 130 days later when we perchased a bay QH. I realise now that this horse is my perfect match. Will do anything in the world for me, yet is still kind to others.

  2. It took me about a year to find Poet. We found her in El Dorado hills. I don't think I'll ever find a horse more perfect :)

  3. I happened upon my mare while helping someone train her horses.  She bought the mare to work on starting a horse, with the plan to sell her.  When my job was done, I asked if I could keep riding her anyway (without getting paid).  She is a unique mare and when she decided to sell the mare, she worked out a deal with me that I would work off most of the cost by training.  She did not want the mare to go to a home where she would not be treated right and knew how much I loved her.

Eight years later, I still own and love her.

  4. Hello,

Well, I am waiting for my third horse...

BUT, my first horse, was NAUGHTY and the one I rode for 5 years.  I guess I never realized what it is like to have and AWESOME horse until I got my second one.

BUT, now I am SPOILED....my second horse taught me how fun it is to ride a BIG hearted, LEVEL headed, WANTING to please horse!  THEY are hard to find and SO awesome!  I bought this horse with only 30 days training on him as a coming 3 year old (that was 5.5 years ago).  HE was BORN broke and wanting to please attitude.

WELL, yesterday, I decided it was best to hand over MY very favorite horse to our son!  He doesn't know it yet!  He is turning 6 and loves my horse...  SO I found a new horse for me and I am giving my big old horse who is the best babysitter, confidence booster, reliable, easy to ride, and will go anywhere asked to our son!  Hollywood LOVES our kids and loves to have them groom ride etc. him.  HE is a gentle giant.

I suppose it will be NOT easy, but I know that he can ride my big old horse (16H, 1350 lbs) and that horse will take care of him, look out for him, and NEVER do anything stupid!

My third horse isn't here yet, and I know my standards and experiences with my second horse have REALLY raised my standards of what I expect in a great all around horse.  But, this new guy (J.D.) sounds just as willing to please!  And I am hoping that we bond as strongly as I did with Hollywood.

THERE are GREAT horses out there, and once you own one of them, one with NO vices, one that is all heart, trusts its rider and is willing to do what ever you ask, you will be SO in love.  MY Hollywood is awesome, a TRUE gentleman, OUTSTANDING trail horse, cow horse and trusted friend!  He brought a new JOY of riding to me, I was timid after a bad wreck as a kid and always watching my family ride and rodeo...  NOW I too have a Championship Buckle won on Hollywood for ranch sorting!

I wish everyone the PERFECT horse!

  5. i found mine years ago from a riding school he was perfect in every way bu sadley he died 2yers ago

  6. took me ages, but i knew what i wanted and i was particular,

she is a 16.2hh intermediate event horse. her name in buddy and she is black, her show name is Budding Beauty.

shouldn't take to long to find a perfect horse as long as its not asking the impossible for the price limit or you want an 4* event horse or grade A show jumper who has won an Olympic gold medal.

  7. it took me 6 years a riding, 4 horses i loved, and no shopping time!

i came to my current barn to lease a horse, and Beau was one of the options-but he was a PUKE.  he tried to buck me off and attack every single horse he could on my trial ride but i wanted to lease him anyway!  then, a few months later the lady who owned him (he was on free lease to my trainer) decided that she wanted to sell him, so when people started coming to try him my family decided to buy him!  Its been one wonderful year, and we're now doing 2nd level dressage movements and jumping courses.  Amazing since beau started out after 3 years off and as fat as a pregnant mare!

    i love my horse XD

  8. I have several perfect horses.  Found in 2, 3 and 5 years. Horses have different personalities and abilities, many may or may not suit you.  The ones that don't suit you might be great for someone else.  Good luck.

  9. I found mine 4 years ago, but the trail riding stable wouldn't sell him because he was such a great horse.... they went out of business this month, and yesterday I moved my horse to his new home!  :-)

  10. I dont and cannot own a horse for a year. I am leasing a horse in a week though! Here is my dream horses?

  11. about 20 seconds, but i didnt realise it for a couple of years. he looses weight, is pig headed, can only float by himself and bolted with me on him about 50 times when i fist bought him. but i've had him for eaight years and i wouldnt trade him for anything!

he also takes human sized bites out of his mollasses and bute wholegrain sandwhiches :)

  12. I do not own my own horse (yet) but I have come across perfect horses in my 8 years of riding. I currently have 2 perfect horses;

Auggie, the arabian I helped train and ride basically everyday

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/22254141@N0...

Roxy, an awesome warmblood I just started riding!! She's amazing!!

http://www.willowbrooke-farm.com/home.ht... (Her name is Priceless, or Roxy, 2nd horse from the top)

If I could own these two horses, I'd be one happy camper!! These horses are perfect for me, and it took me 8 years to find them, yet I do not own them. So I guess the hunt is on until I can own my own horse

  13. lol. 5 1/2 years. when i started looking at horses, i said exactly the specifics i wanted and we had no luck. i tried out everything from ponies to warmbloods and draft crosses but there were none i got really close to. i switched barns and stopped hunting for a horse for a while and it ended up my perfect horse was there. at the time he wasn't for sale but his owner never came to see him and all of that other teenage stuff, so she put him up for sale and i started riding him every day and eventually bought him. now he is amazing!

  14. my perfect horse was the first horse i veiwed and we bought him!

and he really is perfect for me. when i first got him i was a little nervous and he was a really steady neddy with me. Now i have loads more confidence and nothing phases me, and my horse has developed a nutty side!!

it didnt take me long, and from first being interested in him, to paying the full amount for him took about 2months, if that

i have now owned him for 3and a half years and our bond is going from strength to strength. so much so that when i took him into his stall once he was restless, so i untied him so he could walk around. he went to the middle of the stable, lay down, and didnt move when i walked up to him. (this is unusuall and a horse will only lay down in a humans company if they feel safe and relaxed) i sat down next to him and he rested his (very heavy) head on my legs and dozed for a good while.

    Please answer! i need help

  15. it took me 17 years to find the perfect horse for me.....

age 11-took riding lesson for a year and a half.....

age 12-leased an awsome horse for 3 years

    age 15-bought my first horse

age 16-euthanized my horse cause he was lame, couldnt be ridden, couldnt be caught, would kill another horse if given the chance, and he wouldnt let anyone get near his ears (just to name a few of the problems he had)

age 16 (before my horse was put down)-met a beautiful horse with an attitude like my horse i used to lease but he was about 20 years younger than my old horse

age 17-finally bought my perfect horse who i had met earlier when i was 16

    i love u toby <3

  16. Well the horse I take lessons on would be my perfect horse but probably never for lease or sale... lol

Been looking for over a year now for a horse for lease or sale...

I am still saving my money and after college when I get a good job I will probably get one with my own $. I am hoping and dreaming right now that my parents while wake me up one morning and they will have got me a horse!... I keep dreaming.. lol. I have been looking and seeing whats out there on the internet still... I want to lease in the very near future, though all the ones that I go see for a lease aren't what I expect...

  17. When I was 2 i decided i needed a horse and i learned my colors in horse coat colors i would see something that was yellow and say look mom its palomino or something red and say look its sorrel so my parents bought me a 14 year old red dun mare i rode her untill i was 12 years old and bred her several times we never did like her babies so we sold them it took my mom 2 years to find this horse. when i turned 12 i decided i needed an upgrade my mare was well over 20 so i got a 10 year old bay barrel and pole mare we looked for her for about a year i rode her for 4 years won a lot with her and decided i wanted to buy and train my own 2 year old when i turned 16 so i went and looked around for about 4 months for a good 2 year old i found i nice little grey and white paint mare broke her to ride and showed her in western pleasure for 2 years won lots of points with her and sold her after this i started traing babies and now i train and show and rodeo most of the time i own 18 horses right now and have 5 of my mares bred and just bought a 3 month old as my new halter horse BUT i foum my perfect horse just 3 years ago i bought her as a weanling i went to a sale looking for a good 3 or 4 year old roping prospect i had no intention of buying a baby  and saw this baby and had to have her she wound up being the high selling weanling at the sale but that didn't bother me i took her home and fitted her for halter showed her won 2 futurities and multiple grands and reserves at halter when she turned 2 i uit showing her at halter and broke her to ride she never bucked and is great now i am training her for a rope and reining horse and this is my PERFECT HORSE the others were good and worked well but they weren't my perfect horse so i guess i have been looking for this PERFECT HORSE for like 18 years now

  18. i found it and the day we were going to buy it they sold him. and we told them we wanted him..

    but im searching again. =)

  19. because we were looking on such a low budget i found my horse in like 2 months... i found him over the internet on www.equine.com... he's an ottb and he's only 7 but he's the best horse i could ask for... and he was only $700+shipping

definitely ask your trainer if he/she would help you find a horse... i know my trainer goes horse shopping for the girls at the barn quite often and finds some really great show horses...

it all depends on what height ur looking for and what price range and what discipline...

youll find one eventually though... just give it time and dont buy a horse because it's pretty or because you want one and that one is there...

  20. actually, i live in town were we r not allowed to have horses. even though i luv horses and i really want one of my own, i cant have one. plus we dont have the money to care for a horse. even if we could get a horse, it would be cruel to get it if we cant care 4 it. but one day i  will  own a horse.atleast i hope i will

  21. It took meabout 2 weeks

    But it was worth it.

I have a beautiful horse named Paddy.

He is white and an all rounder.

The reason i needed a new horse was because Danny (old horse) got to old to ride

If you are looking for a horse get an allrounder because they are great.

    Good Luck

    I

  22. 3 years and still looking... I thought I had the perfect horse a whole bunch of times but it fell apart. i'm just not going to give up

  23. Hard to say but there was about an 8 year gap between finding him and actually calling him mine
