  1. There are two things here. The first is the fear of being sued which is the result of an opportunist culture that we have no justification other than to blame ourselves for. The other is an obsession of a weak Government paralysed by the fear of offending anyone - other than the majority of it's own indigenous people. It seems innocent traditions must always come second to the sensitivities of the few. Most people of any colour, creed or religious persuasion have common sense and mutual respect. I don't know why we succumb to a few, persistent "victims" who always find an axe to grind.

  2. Yes and we kicked the Froggy **** on Saturday!!!

  3. Through the CSA fathers now get discounts if they have their children to stay.  Isn't that crazy?  They're paying fathers to see their own children?

Never mind the fact that the money gets deducted from the child support, which pays for the children's food, rent, clothing, school trips, sports outfits, birthday parties, pocket money, etc etc.   The world has gone crazy.

  4. Like you I am p---ed off with the slimy Politically Correct who wish to offend no one unless they are trying to put a contrary point of view across in plain language. This country has gone to the dogs because of their apparent reasonable views which upon examination are a form of Stalinist in camouflage

  5. I agree. We've d**n near banned our entire cultural identity saying it's too offensive for other cultures who want to live in England. It's not right!

  6. Um, yeah just you mate.

Your spelling's atrocious by the way! lol.

  7. First we try to make the world a friendlier place.  Then the shìte press decide to make up a few of their own.

If you want to organise a public event, you need public liability insurance.  That's not political correctness, that's "what's in it for me" compensation culture.  The organisers of the pancake race couldn't get insurance at a reasonable price.  As usual, the Daily Telegraph lied about it.

The story about "Baa baa black sheep" was made up by the Sun.

The black boards you write on with chalk are called blackboards.  It's easier to read if the board is green.  So the collective word for all colours is chalk board.  That's not political correctness it's a statement of fact.  Actually most writing is now done on whiteboards using marker pens - but that's no so much fun for the press.

As for going to the dogs.  Television has killed off most of the dog tracks in the UK.  We're a country going to American cop shows.

  8. Those have been issues for some years now.

On the first issue you have public liability insurance, this has been in place for decades, which when coupled with risk assessments creates a great excuse for the insurance industry to ramp up premiums. This puts people off holding events in case something goes wrong.

As for the second issue it is silly. I don't know any black people who are sensitive about the colour of their skin, but I do know a lot of white people who are 'scared' to refer to someone in a general way in case they cause offence.

It is only an insult if you say it in an insulting way.

I have been referred to in very uncomplimentary turns on the basis of my white skin when I found myself in the wrong part of town (a long time ago now). It's what people do to intimidate others. We just have to make sure we continue to apply common sense and challenge those who manipulate situations to create sensationalism, whilst making sure we do not condone or support in any way those who attack other people because they are different.

  9. I like Old Know All's answer and can't add much to it except to wonder why there was so much publicity about the one that couldn't go ahead, which gave the impression that it was the end of pancake races.  In fact, a lot of other ones did take place, including in London, and these for example:

  10. and i cannot see how well or badly my girl is doing at uni!!

but if anything went wrong they will get on to me first, of course.

    blooming stupid!

  11. I haven't got a problem with it because it doesn't apply to me, I am not and never will be PC, the government, society or the bleeding heart liberal PC brigade will stop me using the English language!

  12. I think you are talking about England.
