why does nobody let people email you?

My opinion is, we would get all kinds of unwanted or spam messages. Also, spammers etc. look for groups like this & collect as many e-mail addresses as they can. Just not a good thing to have your e-mail address out there, so to speak.

Sadly, the bad ones have ruined it for us good ones.

Personally, I try to be as open as possible, without taking too many chances.  Some may not trust their instincts well enough to think they are capable of protecting their interests (street smarts?) without hiding from everyone.  There are way too many bad people out there that are looking for their marks on here.  I think it is actually an intelligent choice for those who are the most naive, but I do personally hate it, when I would like to contact someone who doesn't trust anyone.

I have blocked individuals who have sent me unwanted offers, and I have blocked everyone at times when I felt vulnerable.  I think I'm pretty open at the moment, but I'm not really certain.  I just try to be on my toes for the scammers and abusive types.
