  1. i used to use riedell but i switched to harlick customs with a vision synchro parabolic blade

  2. well it depends if you want recreational skates or not.  I'm a serious figure skater, and 13 years old, I use SP-Teri

  3. My daughter started in Riedells at the recommendation of her coach and while she has been in a number of different levels of Riedells she has always been in them.

She has no break in time never a blister and the only problem she has ever had were the pair that had the arches to high.  The fitter reheated them and bent them out and now they are prefect.

  4. Growing up I always skated in custom Harlicks (my feet were really narrow and stock boots didn't fit me), they were tough to break in, but well worth the effort.  You need to be fairly strong to wear them as a lot of people find them to be heavy.  These days, my feet are somewhat wider and I wear SP-Terri's and I love them too; they're a little bit lighter than the Harlicks of days gone by but just as sturdy and comfortable.

  5. both my ex-wife and her sister(made it as far as national level) swore by Rose boots, Willson blades

Luckily for me I play hockey so don't have to pay a grand for skates

  6. My first pair of real figure skaters were Jackson Competitors (I happened to get a warped pair and was too green to know better). They were also at the time the wrong type of skate for my type of feet. A few years later, I thought I would fix my skating problem by buying a pair of Edmonton Specials. Well, I was one of the unlucky skaters who got a pair of lemons. They were not just warped but the back/upper heel ankle area was on a very bad forward incline which makes them very uncomfortable for skating. If I had have bought a warped pair with a bad incline I'd still be skating in them because they were the only skates that hugged my heels and mid foot properly. I'm now skating in Gam's but the center part of my foot and the heel do not hold right because I have a wide ball foot, narrower center and even more narrow heel. To be able to wear these skates I had to add Superfeet, more arch support on top of the Superfeet and more support at the upper side of my arches. To tell you the truth, all the skates made today don't have the same arch support as they use to have. We all just have to do the best with what we have.

  7. it's been many years since i put skates on but my skates were C.C.M prolites, they were tube skates from Canada.

your right my fault for not reading your question as i should have.

  8. I skate with Reidells. They take some time to break in but they're worth it.

  9. After my first beginner skates, I've only exclusively skated in SP-Teri's with MK Pro blades.  They fit me perfectlly . . . and as expensive as skates can be, I've never wanted to experiment with any other brand . . . why change a good thing, right?  Some like SP-Teri's, some don't.  But they served me well  :)

  10. I currently have Riedell Gold medallion with JW Julibee blades. They have been very comfortable good skates, my only problems is that I bought skates that aren't quite high enough for my level of skating otherwise I have loved them. If I would have bought stiffer skates along with some better blades they would be better suited for my level of skating otherwise they have been great!

  11. I use reidell gold star skates with a cornation blade, yes i enjoy them very much, but the break-in period was very long and painful, hope i helped!

  12. Currently on Reidell.  I started skating seriously about 14 months ago and they have lasted me well, but maybe a little narrow for my feet.

I am going to be fitted for a new pair in January and knowing what I have heard about the fitter and my budget, they are likely to be Gam Ultra with Coronation Ace blades.  If they fit nicely of course!

I am primarily an ice dancer, but learning basic jumps and will be learning more advanced spins hopefully!

Lastly, you will find that what someone recommends, somebody else will claim are horrible.  Everybody has differently shaped feet, different requirements and their own preferences on what their skates should feel like (tigher, looser etc).  The only true way to get a picture is to go to a reputable skate fitter / pro shop and try a variety of skates for yourself, to see what feels good on your feet.

  13. I USE JACKSON

THEY ARE COMFY AND NICE, AND LIKE 70$.

    THAT IS GOOD!

  14. i have klingbiels and i absolutely love them.

  15. i have reidell gold star skates with vision blades it's fairly good but i do like jackson skates better because they're light
