tonight my meal was really unpleasant, it way too salty, i barely touched it, hours later my lips are still dry from the abundance of soy sauce used. i didn't send it back but told the waitress it was inedible, not so much as even a "sorry" or "will let chef" know. will not be going back or referring my friends.

  1. of course

  2. It depends, if it's just a little too rare or a little too well done then no. If it is inedible then yes, and if the waiter staff doesn't do something about it I expect to see a manager.

  3. yes I would have complained, and if the waitress didn't satisfy me I would have asked to speak to the manager

  4. I think if I was in your place, I might have asked to speak with the manager if the waitress seemed uncuncerned with your dinning experience. If the manager was not far more helpful, I would not return to the place. I would also go out of my way to inform people how poor your experience was.

In my opinion, the reason for going out to eat is to get a higher quality of food and service than you get at home. Now it might depend on where you were, I mean if you were at TGI Friday's or some similar chain restuarant with a high school kid back there cooking your dinner, and a similar high school kid trying out waitressing to make beer money, you just can't expect too much. You might have your food spit on if you send it back, but at a professional restuarant, there is no way you should get over salty, poorly prepared food, nor should you ever have a waitress unconcerned with your dinning experience.

  5. You dont necessarily have to complain but I would certainly send it back to be re-cooked the way I had ordered it.

  6. My partner is a chef... I wouldn't EVER complain that my steak wasn't cooked right... They do nasty things to people's food... If it was really inedible, I would complain. There is no way I would pay for food I CAN'T eat. I would never order a steak well done...... Or order fish on a Tuesday...

  7. sheesh! It depends on how much your spending. sometimes people should be thankful you HAVE food!

  8. Initially I figured you meant it was either too raw or overcooked -- both of which are ways you can ask for your steak to be prepared. It seems you actually did complain, but didn't receive the attention or outcome you were hoping for. I'd say in this instance it would be best to complain about the service rather than the food and to either order something different or make up a bogus lie about precautions to your sodium intake.

  9. In your instance I would certainly complain and complain loudly!  For the waitress not to apologize and take further action was completely out of order.  You should not have had to pay for a meal you couldn't eat!  I wouldn't go back either!

  10. WELL IF YOU EVER GO THERE AGAIN, AND YOU GET THE SAME TREATMENT, HERE IS WHAT YOU DO. VERY POLITELY YOU SAY TO THE WAITRESS, " I AM SORRY(MAM OR SIR) BUT EVERYTIME I COME HERE, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING UNPLEASENT WITH MY STEAK. IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE IF I COULD GET A REPLACEMENT.

  11. I would definitely have sent it back.  I have had to a couple of times.  My daughter will not eat steak cooked over medium rare.  Actually we ate out last night and the waitress said I could not order anything under Medium for a child.  I told her she needs to check again, as we always get it medium rare.

  12. If your meal was that bad ,and the waitress,I would have asked for the manager and asked for a new entree. If they didn't try to resolve it I would have politely gotten up and left the restaurant.I also would never return and definitely would never recommend it to anyone else. And maybe even advise against anyone I know going there. To go out to dinner is suppose to be pleasant and enjoyable but it sounds like your experience was the opposite.
