I've been wanting to do this and now I have the opportunity. I am a 26 yr. old female, American.

I don't know anyone there.

I plan to go on to Portugal. Are their any hidden or unknown dangers I should know about?

Can you recommend best hotel for my situation? Any must see adventures?

  1. For a city of its size, Madrid boasts an exceptional number of world - class museums and galleries. Heading the list is the Prado, with the worlds largest collection of Spanish art, the Thyssen – Bornemisza, which traces the development western art from the 14th century, and Reina Sofia, with its outstanding display of modern art. 2. I wouldn't call Madrid dangerous, but when I was there, it was a little bit shifty.  You really have to look out for yourself in Madrid.  I went there with a group of students, and several of us got followed.  When we were standing and listening to our guide, there was this one man who was sort of edging closer and closer to a girl at the edge of our group.  Another guy followed a different girl around the streets and into a few shops.  Several people on other trips have been pickpocketed.  You really have to pay attention...
