  1. 1.  Learn to count better.

    2.  Watch your till.

    3.  Pay up.

  2. You must make sure your till is correct when you take it over, and don't let anyone into it.

    Good Luck

  3. Rectify the discrepancies in your till.  You are responsible for accepting the correct amount of money for the bill, making correct change, and balancing your till at the end of the day.  Pay it.  If you cannot handle money, count it properly and make change, you are in the wrong job.

  4. Don't do it!!! Ive been in the teller/cashier business for 15 years and what Ive found is that, when a manager or company asks their cashier to pay the difference in their till, someone is or will soon be stealing out of that till. I pride myself on my counting skills and I will only work for a company if my 2 needs are met. #1, I work from my own till, and #2, I pay no money back. That's why it is also important to count, then recount your till everyday, no matter how long the line is!!!

  5. This happened to me on a job I had some time ago.  First of all, are your hands the only hands that go into your till during you shift?  If not, point that out, and name all the hands that you are aware of that go into your till.

Are you the one counting out your till or is someone else?  If it is someone else, tell them you want to perform the first count.

If you know you are not taking from the till, and yours are not the only hands in there, and the boss won't do anything about it, find another job.

In my case, it was the boss and his wife that kept going into my till and then short changing my paycheck.
