  1. yeah. he seems very confidence. personally, I'd like to see him becoming a top-seed again. let's pray for that.

  2. As far as i'm concerned, he's still missing confidence. Sure winning the gold medal in doubles at the olympics was a nice accomplishment, but it's the singles that counts more and from what i've seen the last couple of rounds, his game is still suffering.

In regards to him regaining the top spot, I don't think it'll happen anytime soon.........at least any time this year anyway. Maybe next year, if Nadal slips up. I doubt that may happen.

  3. Yes he is, but I'm still hoping Novak Djokovic can defeat Roger if they meet in the semi's.. Not because I hate Roger.. :)

  4. You see, Federer has been incredibly lucky throughout his career. First and foremost, he nearly always got the run of luck; line calls would go his way, net-courts would bounce in his favour, sometimes I even felt he was paying the umpire off (all that changed when Hawk Eye was introduced, and it's probably no coincidence that he's dropped in rankings ever since).

Second, he was playing at a time when there weren't really any great adversaries (I mean, he beat Sampras when the big man was in the twilight of his career and long gone are those days of Becker and Borg and Agassi) so fortune smiled on the young Swiss.

So there it is - irrefutable evidence that he really was never that great. Conclusion: it was only a matter of time before someone like Nadal came along who actually had some real talent and showed us what Federer really is; a 2nd rate has-been.

Oh, and he needs a haircut.

  5. It seem everybody is coming down so hard on Federer for his recent losses.  Don't forget the guy was very sick at the beginning of the year.  Even though he has said on many occasion that he is feeling fine I don't believe he really got over totally.  I am sure he will regain his form in the new year.  He is such a fun guy to watch and he really love the game.  After his losses earlier this year he cried like a baby because he love the game and wanted to do well.  It only remind us he is human after all.

  6. so much talk about fed being quote "has been".ok lets say nadal holds the #1 ranking for 2-3 years then all of a sudden he has one bad year.all we will probably reading after that is that nadal is a has been?come on 1 bad year and people aer already writing him off as a 2nd rate has been.reality check he was not lucky during his career as number, it takes skill determination passion to hold that position.hes a fighter and will always be dont bag him out since he had ONE bad year.good luck fed

  7. He had mono earlier this year, so that could be the reason he's playing bad. Mono takes a lot out of a person. That and the fact that Nadal has really stepped up his game. I think he needs to take some time off and come back when he has regained his strength. Then he will be as good as new.

And, for the record, I'm not one of those fans who makes excuses for Federer when he plays poorly. I'm simply stating the facts.

  8. he was devastated after that but now he is in good frame of mind

  9. Put a fork in him, because he's done.  He had a great run, but like all players that rise to the top, there's only one way for him to go from there.....

  10. federer is done he will never be number 1 again he almost lost to some russian who wasnt even that good he nadal will have that spot for a long time
