  1. I make a living off of "graffiti".  I think of it more than a form of vandalism but rather the free-ist expression there is. it is governed by the need to create for creation sake, not for profit. Where else in the art world do you see that?

    Further more, it is mis-labeled and hated on like any new form of art. It is like saying , "i hate paintings" or "music" because it is not your taste when you know there are so many different styles if you had a few minutes to explore the vast world of graffiti instead of looking at your corner and thinking thats all there is. It's like looking at your childs art and thinking that all there is in the art world....


  2. I think graffiti as another form of public/urban art is pretty cool within bounds, but gang-related spray painting is hackneyed and an eyesore.

  3. I think calling all graffiti urban art is stretching it but a lot of it is very cool if it's not done in a "tagging" sort of way.

  4. The best one I ever saw in a toilet was in the early 70's: "If you voted for Nixon, you can't S**t here.  Your (_*_)'s in Washington."
