this is to do with my eyes

i've struggled with a squint, lazy eye all my life. sometimes it is taken care of with updated contact and lens prescriptions and things like exercise.

i was told by a doctor to hold a pen far away and focus on it as i bring it closer, to bring my eyes closer to one another. but recently i've discovered my own exercise.

the eye that goes out, i hold a pen as far away from it as possible and focus on that, which strengthens the muscle nearest my nose, but in return, my other eye goes out a tiny bit more which seems to make everything quite even, as im strengthening the outer muscle of the 'straight' eye.

will these exercises s***w with my vision? shall i continue?

any advice welcome!!

thanks! :)

  1. Most of the time we reccomend what your doctor has told you to do. If they felt that the one you are now doing was the best way for your specific problem, they would have told you to do that in the first place. So, in my opinion, I think you should do the exercise the way your doctor prescribed. Another thing is that you can call them and ask to be seen and have the doctor test you to see if your way is working. They might tell you that you are doing great, or they might tell you that the original way might be better. Your doctor that knows your specific muscle imbalance would be the best one to help with this. Good luck and I hope I did not confuse the issue!
