Your views on abortion? ?

I am totally against terminating a pregnancy - in any circumstances. I know that it should be a woman's perogative whether or not she wishes to continue with a pregnancy...... but I just feel that terminations are simply a convenient way for the "mother" to get out of her responsibilities.

When my mum was pregnant with me, she was told that I had brain problems & would be severely disabled...... she was offered a termination & refused flat out ........... and guess what........turned out they were wrong! Maybe this is my reason for being so anti-abortion......

Your views if you would be so kind.

  1. Unless the baby or mother has their lives at risk because of the pregnancy, I am against it.

  2. I Agree with it and think it is used as a form of contriception, in my opinon its not alive untill its out.

  3. hmm.. what ARE my views on coldblooded murder?

  4. I dont think it right but it wouldnt be right to make someone who go brutally raped have the rapists baby and then go on to despise the baby every time she looked at it. Or would it be right to make the 11 year old give birth to her pedophile fathers child. I think in certain circumstance abortion should remain an alternative.

  5. I think it would depend on circumstances... If a young 13 yr old girl was raped, and became pregnant, I would not grudge her an abortion

    But I'm mostly pro-life :)

  6. Every woman has her own reason for wanting an abortion. One reason could be because of a rape. We should not judge.

  7. Its a wrong and evil process. Did you know that babies get their own heartbeat and are "really alive" after as few as two days? Well its true. I am 100% catholic, and i think that even if a 13 year old was pregnant they should at least give birth, and then they gan give the child to an orphanage. I also think you should definetly definetly definetly not be getting pregnant until you are married, because having children is gods sift to married couples.  Its always, always, always wrong, and i am very proud of your mother for being pro-life. thank you, and always remain pro-life. Also, birth control can sometimes kill a child also, even if it doesnt tell you that.

  8. I used to be all for it until my mum told me the only reason I came to be born was that her doctor was a Catholic and told her that due to his beliefs he would not have any part in terminating me.

She didn't report him to the GMC or found 'the right Doctor' she just accepted it. When she told me this story (because I was getting a bit uncomfortably vociferous about how 'right' abortion is) she said what a load off her mind it was to be told she couldn't have an abortion

Kind of changed my way of thinking for ever that did.

  9. Hi, I was the result of an illcit affair between my mother and a bus driver in 1946, her husband still being in the forces 'mopping up' after the war, I was never wanted and I found out at a later date that my mother tried everything to get rid of me, so if modern technology had been around then I would not have been here which, would have been a pity because I have really enjoyed my life and would not like to have been aborted, and don't forget, the young child is always the innocent party, so I've got a good reason to be ant-abortion, ironic, but I'm a bus driver too, I hope this has been a little help to you.

  10. it shouldn't be so black and white . there could be a health issue. not mental. i don't want to see abortion as a birth control.

  11. i am personally pro choice. i think that a woman/girl should have the choice to end her pregnancy. i wouldn't get one because children are gifts and should be treated as such, but some people cannot support children. what other people do is really none of my buisness as long as they are not in serious danger or need help.

  12. I think there are many reasons and circumstances that would lead to making an abortion necessary.  If a 12 year old girl is raped, is it fair to take her pain and humiliation that much further?  If a pregnant mother of 5 was told that she would die if she gave birth one more time, should she give birth and leave 6 orphans?  If a mother of 8 is pregnant with her 9th child and can't afford to feed one more mouth, should she bring number 9 in so that they can all suffer?

My grandfather and his sister were brought up in an orphanage because their father abandoned them and their mother.  There was no public assistance then, and most states are cutting way back.

I believe that we as a people should take better care of the people who are already on this planet instead of being driven to bring more in.

Some people do use abortion as birth control, and I do not agree with that.  But I think it should be between a woman and her God and not legislated on.

Edit:  Well, Emmie, most anti-abortionists I have encountered only see it in black and white.  You obviously see the different shades of grey.

  13. I'm completely against it. That may have to do a lot with me being Catholic but even if I wasn't I would be pro-life until I die. I don't get it if someone murders a pregnant woman they get charged with double murder but a pregnant woman can have an abortion and people say its ok. This is a twisted world. And other people say "oh it's not alive until it's born" but yes it is no matter what. And I agree with you completely if two people think they're are responsible enough to do what they do to get pregnant. then they need to accept the responsibility to have the baby. Their are other options then abortion like adoption perhaps. There are plenty of couples out there that want to have children but are physically unable. And has anyone seen the movie juno? Its a perfect example of that. and people do say its her body, it's her baby, its her choice. but what its the baby's life don't you think it has a choice. and although it can't talk or communicate with anyone I don't think it would like to be murdered do you?

  14. I don't really care what people do with their bodies, really. I mean, we can't tell people what they can and can't do with themselves.

I suppose my view is one based on apathy. I think a lot of laws and social norms/taboos are unnecessary and unreasonable.

  15. Pro life.

  16. all for it. It should be the choice of parents not the religious community imposing their standards on others.

  17. Abortion is a personal and private issue between those concerned.

  18. I'm pro-choice.

  19. pro-life. i can not have kids , but if i could and was told something was wrong..i would still have my baby. it is a life , not a choice.  some women are just plain lazy and do not use birth control . they view abortion as a form of birth control..and that is sooo wrong on sooo many levels !! start using it and make your man use it also !!  do not kill a unborn baby  because you could not wait a few minutes to ..prevent it ..by using something !!!

  20. 1) Abortion is NOT used as a form of contraception. That is one of the lies anti abortionists peddle.  If that was the case, they would be offered more openly than they are now.

    2) I've seen distant female members of my family get pregnant in their teenage years and end up living on state handouts pushing prams, simply because they wouldn't terminate.  I was determined not to end up like that.

    3) I've just heard from another Yahooer that the Aussies have extended their abortion time limit to 24 weeks - the same as us.

    4) I don't impose my views on you, do I?  So why impose your views on me?

  21. Disgusting, as there are many ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies, no need of abortions in this day and age

  22. you made it you can destroy it, my mother should have  anyway . glad you think yours was wrong.

  23. i think abortion is neccesary in some cases ,but not just for the sake of doing so or because there might be something wrong with the child , me personally dont think that is an excuse good enough , now the mother should be stable enough , both mentaly and phisically and financially  to take care of the child and give him/her what he or she is in need of , or have some other support , now if you have an abortion at 4-6 even 8 weeks legally you are not killing or terminating a baby becuz there is no body untill about 12 weeks . i had the case of i was 15 years old and i had a termination at 16 weeks , obviously it was illegal but i had it done in a private clinic , which my mum n dad paid for , i was studying in high school , my boyfriend was 22  at the time had no place of his own , he was very cealous person as in abusive , there was no way i would of been able to look after that baby although it did affect me mentally for about a year it was for the best now im 20 im in india settled im engaged to be married in feb 2010 , otherwise i would of been stuckk in spain havin to take that abuse myself and if that baby was born he or she wud of also been badly abused , so in the circumstances it was right . it  seriously depends on you , wat u feel will be right for you and of course the baby.

  24. im 14 i have no views on that, but i believe that its ok before 4 months, after that, the individual becomes an "individual" if u know what i mean

  25. Pro choice. Even moreso in cases of rape or when it's still in the bundle of cells stage rather than the sentient being stage. In the very early stages it isn't too different from being on the pill which many would-be mothers do.

I do think that if someone is going to have s*x but doesn't want a child from it, they should be careful and use contraception so it doesn't get to the point of needing an abortion unless it's one of the rare cases where the contraception fails.

A lot of people say to have it and give it to an orphanage, but that ignores how many unadopted children there already are which they'd be adding to.

  26. I believe it is wrong too, but in some circumstances if a women is raped and a kid is born then i dont think its wrong at all to have a abortion.

  27. Totally against it - life is too precious!
