Question:

Youth information officer interview?

Hi all,

I recently applied for a 'Youth Information Officer' Vacancy with our local council.

I know a little of the services that would be offered. I would be responsible for providing information and support to 11 - 25 year olds. Helping them contact other agencies, etc, etc.

I have the interview. It will be 45 minutes long and I will be required to take a 10 minute written exercise on the following topic

"Devise a scheme of work for delivery of informal advice sessions to young people"

Now I am stumped. I have no idea what this question means tbh.

I am wondering if I could answer this question with saying, "I would ask the user group what information/advice they would like, and then arranging for a guest speaker relevent to the information needed to come into the centre and deliver an informal talk."

Sexual health nurse to discuss sexual health for example.

What do you think? Any other takes on the question?

Thanks all.

  1. Its all nonsense speak, get used to it, youll have to to work in  local authority, its not about being able to do the job its all about being able to fit in and talk the talk.  maybe check out local authority websites to find out what they could possibly mean,  also good luck with your interview and make sure you say pro active at least 3 times otherwise you dont stand a chance,
