Youth leadership conferences?

i got nominated for the presidential youth inaguaration conference. (PYIC) and i really want to go because it would be an opportunity of a lifetime. but my parents wont let me go because its expensive, is there any suggestions on how i can persuade my parents to let me go or raise money? ANYTHING WILL DO please help.

Many of these types of things are scams in that they make you pay a lot of money for something with a really nice name; in reality, however, to colleges it shows more that you're willing to spend lots of money for a good name than that you are exceptional in something.
