Youtube video quality?

why when u post a video on youtube, tha quality of tha video is lesser than off of ur camera, like when i watch tha video on my computer it looks almosy like HD but when i put it on youtube it looks like from a camera phone all cheesey lookin lol, does anybody know why???

Because the files are compressed when he video are uploaded to youtube - to save space and for easier file transfer.

Most other sites have better video quality - try imeem, veoh, vimeo or dailymotion if you want the video to be displayed at its original resolution.

Youtube reduces everything to 320x240 @300kbit/sec to save money.

All of YouTube has that problem. That's just how YouTube is. You cannot fix it, that's how they save space.
