Yu Darvish's comeback into the league surrounded by uncertainty and rumours -MLB Update
Major League Baseball (MLB) is yet to receive any news whether Japanese right-hand pitcher, Yu Darvish, will be coming back to the North American league for the 2012 MLB season.
The MLB was expected to get information of the Japanese sensation after the Japan World Series ended where he was playing for his original team, the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, but over a week has passed and still, there is no news from anywhere, which
has suspicions and uncertainty rumouring around the league.
In regard to the rumouring around the league, it has been heard from sources close to the 25-year-old player, that he is currently in the process of divorcing his wife and is waiting until the entire procedure is complete so that he can continue his career
instead of having to split any money he will earn in the future with her by signing a deal at the moment.
Along with the divorce, another source that is close to the player, revealed by FOXSports.com’s Jon Paul Morosi, his return is more likely than it not being in the pipeline, which gives hope to the teams that have plans on acquiring the young Japanese starting
pitcher.
It is believed that teams will have to offer it all for one of the top free agents this winter, which has created a sort of bidding process by different franchises in the league.
Another Japanese player, Daisuke Matsuzaka, earned a huge amount by the Boston Red Sox, a whopping $51, 111, 111, which certainly has created rumour that Darvish might ask for as much, but could easily be asking in the lower double digit range annually from
the team he chooses to play for.
On the other hand, it has also been reported that the pitcher is seeking more than $50 million, which would topple Matsuzaka’s amount, but it is difficult that any team would agree to such an amount due to the recent signing of the collective bargaining
agreement (CBA).
It will be interesting to see what turns out as the series of events progress for Yu Darvish, who has the league waiting for his answer at the moment on whether he will be playing next year or now.
