When a card like Dimensional Fissure are activated, do destroyed monster cards actually enter the Graveyard BEFORE they are removed from play, or are they directly removed from play? I ask this because another card, a trap for example, might say "When a monster is sent to the graveyard...."....... meaning if it doesn't actually ever go there the effect cannot be activated.

[Dimensional Fissure]

"Any monsters sent to the Graveyard are removed from play instead."

  1. It says instead...so that means they don't go in the graveyard at all...they go strght into the remove from play zone.

  2. With Dimensional Fissure and Macros Cosmos, monsters never hit the graveyard as they are removed from play INSTEAD.

As long as either of those cards are on the field any monster where their effect activates in the graveyard will not activate as they are never hitting the graveyard.

To add to your question, you also cannot activate any card where their effect states you must discard a card to the graveyard in order to activate it.  Cards like Lightning Vortex, Monster Reincarnation, Darklord Zerato, Tribute to the Doomed, etc., will not be able to activate as you have to discard cards to the graveyard to activate their effects.

  3. No, it would immediatly become removed from play. That would mean your trap card would not activate and not work.

    Hope I Helped =D

  4. They go directly to the remove from play.

There in no side trips to the graveyard hah.

  5. no, the go directly out of play. it actually says it right on the card. "instead"

that one word is the key.

    they never hit the graveyard.

  6. you just remove them from play

  7. Like the card effect says, any monster sent to the graveyard is removed from the game, that means they are instantly removed from play instead of going straight to the grave since cards like Dimensional Fissure alter the functions of dueling to a player's advantage or disadvantage, however, if a trap card was ever to activate with the requirement "When a monster is sent to the graveyard...", it cancels itself out, therefore it cannot be used because if Dimensional Fissure is face up on the field, regardless, the trap card is deemed useless.

  8. since it says "instead", the monsters will just be removed from play right away.

  9. grow up
