Almost done for today, wahaha =)

I was wondering. When you have an effect monster that's effect says, for example, to bring out a specific card or draw a card from your deck when it's destroyed, and control of this monster switches to your opponent, does the effect then apply to the opponent or you?

  1. If you are talking about something like your Mystic Tomato being destroyed on your opponents side  of the field that means you would get the effect not your opponent. this is because these effects activate in the graveyard and they are sent to your graveyard since you are the owner of the card.

  2. Well for one, you need to write your questions a bit better next time.  I had to read it 3 times before I understood it.

Well the way I understood your question was that you have a card such as Giant Rat, Nimble Momonga, or Card Trooper on the field and you use a card like Creature Swap to switch the control to your opponent.  All those cards state that the effect activates when the card hits your graveyard.  So you will get the effects of those cards even if they are on your opponents side of the field.  So the way it works is that you Summon Giant Rat, activate Creature Swap, switch control to your opponent, attack the Rat, it hits your graveyard, the effect activates, and a new Rat or Earth creature will go to your side of the field and you can still attack with the new monster in the same turn as all of this happens during your battle phase.

There are certain cards, however, that if they switch control that your opponent will get the effect.  The only example that I know of is Cyber Valley.  If you were to switch control during your turn and attack it, then your opponent can activate Cyber Valley and your opponent will draw the card even though it gets sent to your removed from play zone.  The same thing if during your opponents turn they use Brain Control and take control of Cyber Valley and activates its second effect to draw 2 cards.  Even though Valley goes to your removed from play zone, your opponent will draw 2 cards.

    I hope this helps.
