Why is it that on the show they don't have to tribute monsters to summon lvl 5 or higher but in the TCG you have to?

  1. some shows they do that but as the game developed (because the game really wasn't supposed to be a big part of the manga but started to be a huge part of the tv show) but later on during the other shows it became nessesary but gx uses the full rules  if you want the full rules and you just started dueling then get a structer deck because it has the game mat and the full rule book or look it up online you can't play unless you have the full rules me and my bro once did that and we were in a big mess (he still cheats)

  2. Back to the olden days, where the Duelist Kingdom arc had started, the game was just newly developed and it had the basic Pokemon ruling, as people might say, Fire beats Grass, Water beats Fire, etc. In this case, Yugi summoned Summon Skull and use the electricity to kill Weevil's Ultimate Moth in an instant. The rules were confusing, and suddenly powerful monsters can be summoned without Tributes etc. So when the OCG/TCG were developed in real life, Konami/UDE had restricted the rulings to make it a fair game to play, which is why we have to Tribute a monster to Tribute summon a monster. But then again, Yugioh GX have revisited the rules of the real life card game and follow through with it. Yugioh 5D's remains the same also, with the weird new synchros and tuners in place. Stardust Dragon is a cool card, though but yeah, that's another story.

  3. because they want to make it easy in the series so people think that it's an easy game

  4. The episoides are not right so its g*y

    but the TCG is cool

  5. I believe when Kazuki Takahashi first made the card game in his manga, he just put stars on there for show, and not for effects of cards or required tributes, etc. The TV show started out like this, being based on the manga, but I believe around where you were was when tributing started taking place.

  6. It adds a game mechanic to make the real TCG more complicated to play. Players now will have 1 additional cost/effect trait to contemplate during the match not just “I summon this 7450ATK Level 12 monster to game you” all the way.

If there is no tribute… monster with the highest attack will be the most thought after cards. Such rules will make it bad for UDE and Konami: the card making companies. Because, HUGE ATK monsters, will make some effect cards(monster, trap, spell) useless or obsolete.(injection fairy lilly for example). Also, it will create an arms race of higher ATK to almost no limit. (one set came out a 3400ATK and the next set introduces a 3500ATK or worse: a 4500DEF) Most importantly, it would have shorten the game to make it somewhat a “stupid/simple game” since you can hit him for 3000 just by summoning  1 Level 8 monster for no cost… imaging doing that back and forth for 5 turns for a game in 3 minutes…. How fun would that be?

Now, TCG must be a game that is appealing to kids and teenagers,:its primary target markets. Today's youngsters are smarter than ever...(so to speak), they are interested in more than just a number comparing game.

  7. in both anime they haf to sacrifice for a level 5 or higher monster the only thing is in the origenel anime yugi wen to duelist kingdom wich had diffrent ruels making it harder to win a duel after episode 49 of the origenel anime they go by the real ruels n gx gos by real ruels the hole way throe!! :D

  8. When I watched the original series like 5 years ago or something I remembered that the characters played the game not the right way. Only sometimes though. I remember when Joey would summon his fav card Flame Swordsman without a tribute even though in the TCG it is a fusion card and it has five level stars I believe. Also during the Duelist Kingdom Chapter if you played in a specific duel arena or something there would be a specific field advantage. All these things were stupid. The show had to bend some rules around to  make the episodes seem a bit more interesting probably and faster. It made the game seem a lot easier than it really is. Also the show was for kids so it didnt have to be entirely correct. The GX series I believe doesn't have these rule breaking plays.
